Hello, we are students of Chichibu High School. This time we would like to introduce a recommended winter spot in Chichibu. It is the icicles of Ashigakubo.

The icicles of Ashigakubo are one of the three major icicles in Chichibu. They are also easy to get to, being less than a 10-minute walk from the station.

The period runs until the 24th of February, and the icicles are lit up from 5pm to 8pm from Thursday to Sunday. We recommend going during the lit-up hours, as they look more beautiful.

Also, stopping by the hot springs at Seibu Chichibu Station on your way back is a great way to warm up! ♨️ Come and enjoy the winter scenery of Ashigakubo’s icicles in Chichibu! ❄️✨

Summer may be viewed as the season for energetic festivals and brilliant fireworks displays but one of Japan’s 3 great hikiyama or “float festivals” is the Chichibu Night Festival held each December 2nd and 3rd 😳 And the massive beautifully adorned floats and lively festival music have been delighting locals and visitors for more than 350 years! 🤩🎇
