[Furusutobaru Ruins and Oyakeakahachi]

Oyakeakahachi was a leader in based on Ohama village at the end of 15th century.
Was he a hero of Yaeyama islands? Or a rebel for Ryukyu kingdom?
It’s depends on how you think or feel..

Was here his residence? So far, there is no proof of that ...

The incident of Oyakeakahachi in 1500 changed the lives of the people of Yaeyama islands.

Yes, this Ruin has full of such romance.

However, during the war, it was also used as a passage for transporting military aircraft.

Not many tourists visit here, but there are parking lots, restrooms and nice benches.

Here is one of the recommended place for history lovers.

そして、ここは彼の居城だった？今のところ、その証拠は無いけど…

1500年のオヤケアカハチのあの事件で、きっと、八重山の人達の生活も一変したんだろうなー。

そんなロマン溢れる遺跡。

だけど、戦時中は、軍用飛行機を移送するための通路とか格納庫としても利用されたそう。

観光客はあまり来ないけど、立派な駐車場、トイレ、ゆんたくエリア？がいつの間にか整備されていて、おぉー！
と思いました。

歴史好きの人には、是非、訪れて欲しい場所の一つです✨

7th of July was Tanabata festival(star festival). This is the one day of the year the weaver princess(Vega) and the cowherd prince(Altair) can cross the Milky Way that separates them and renew their love for each other. On this day we write our wishes on the small paper and decorate in bamboo tree🎋and wish upon a star ⭐️ I introduced this story to my guests in the bus and decorated small bamboo tree with wishes🎋 Especially kids loved to write their wishes and decorations✨
It was so cute💕😍💕✨
Hope their wishes will come true🎋

One of my favorite thing on the Taketomi island is looking up and finding the unique face of shi-sa dog✨🦁🐶✨

After I mentioned that, everyone in my group started to look up😆 Hope they found their own favorite!
