Important Notice: Takayama Spring Festival (April 14th & 15th)

Hie-jinja Shrine announced, with sadness, that most of the spring festival events have been canceled for 2020.

With all of the recent precautions being taken to keep our community safe and healthy and to avoid large gathering, this likely dese not come as a surprise to us, though.
Only ritual ceremonies at Hie-jinja Shrine will be held.

No display of the festival floats on the streets, no Karakuri marionette performances, no night festival, and no festival processions.

However, you can see the gorgeous festival floats in each storehouse that is located within the old town area.
