Kawagoe is a town that can do sightseeing in a day.
It is a much smaller town than Kamakura. It has nicknamed Koedo, which means "little Edo.
Visitors can enjoy souvenirs and refreshments in the rows of warehouses made of black plaster.
You can also enjoy a place called "Okashi Yokocho," which retains the atmosphere of old Japan. Kawagoe is famous for the Toki no Kane, Time bell tower, a building where the people of that time rang a bell to tell the time.
Part of the Kawagoe Castle remains and has been restored. There is also a museum, so if you are interested, you may want to stop by.
Kita-in Temple, another famous temple, was not visited this time.
It is possible to rent a kimono at a kimono rental shop for sightseeing. I often saw both foreign and Japanese tourists touring around in yukata, summer kimono.
It takes one hour from Shinjuku, Seibu Shinjuku Station by express train with no express fee.
※There is special express fee train, too.
Since it is inland, it is advisable to take water etc. when sightseeing in summer to avoid heat stroke.

How short the days of cherry blossom blooming is!
The petals are starting to fall, but look like spring snow.
Many people take photo of beautiful scenery of Sakura.
As you know, we are still under pandemic of covid19,　so people avoid holding banquet, Ohanami.
Cherry blossom picnic and banquet were
started in Edo era, about 300 years ago with strategy of Tokugawa shogunate.
At the time, people used their money for prostitite or betting. So Sh**un, who came from famous Sakura spot inWakayama, strongly proceed the strategy fot commoner not to pay prosutitite or betting.

If he didn't hit this idea, we haven't seen today's cherry blossom!

Shinjuku is famous shopping area, but this great park, Shinjuku-gyoen is also in Shjukui. It has some different type of gardens. In Edo period, this place was belonged by feudal load. After maiji restoration, it was belonged by Imperial family. Nowadays, we can enter there with 500 yen.

Japand's land is on volcanic plates, so we have had some greatly big earthquake. One of them hit　in 1923, the great Kanto earthquwake.
I　found its memory in this shrine. There is a pair of stone lantern which was sat at same year, the earthquwake happened. It says a greatly big earthquwake occured in the same year, 1st, Sep, noon. So many people died by fire twisters, caused from cooking fire. After that, city people moved their living to less damaged area, such as this shrine's village.

What is rare in this shrine is dragon Tori gate. Truly there are just three dragon Tori in Tokyo.
My favorite in this shrine is Aoishi, blue stone.
It's used for traditional garden,　but expensive.
You can watch next moving I'll upload.
It is definitely beautiful and sounds of water dropping make you relax, drive away every bad feeling!

Japanese people have a custom of visiting shrine during new year days, called Hastumoude, first visiting. It's a greeting to diets and pray the wishes.
According to covid19, I guess people avoid to do first visiting shrines. Anyhow, shrines prepare to welcome year's god, ox.
The phone which are two straw rounds shows driving away any illnesses. I saw it many times in this year, yes, It's for covid19.

What is Interesting thing is that we are said we should walk around this round like writing 8.

8 is said It's a number of god, sanctuary or vast amount. Also, 8 in western world has meaning of revival, next step.

9 in ancient India is nava.
This number deeply relates with night, neaf, new.

I think 8 shows complete one round, like spiral.
Next number 9 has new root from sphere.

So 8 shape walking around the round rope in japan shows reborn, I think.

Buddhisum came from India and India european language group still has concepts under the culture.

I can not get to know how our ancestors thought their lives, however, both we, including ancestors, decenters as we, the people on the earth always have feeling to overcome our hardship, anytime anywhere.

This is absolutely true for every person.

Next year must be marvelous, fantastic, wonderful year, definitely!

Same day of videos I uploaded.
Nirvana is famous band name, so some of you know it is a idea of old Indian philosophy.
This word was used in buddhisum too as a heaven.
Thoughout china to japan, the pronunciation of Nirvana was changed little by little.
So we, japanese call it, Nehan.
Original meaning of Nirvana is no wind, Nir shows no, vana is wind.

Indian european language group is one of the worldly known study in academic fields.
You can see some words related vana in your language. Vent in french, ventilation in english.
No wind moves nothing, fighting, sadness, angrer, but also joy, love, happy don't come.

We are living in the tempest now, but it can be say we are suffering because we are living.
As You keep on fighting this situation, we could get happiness too in the future.

Please survive this hardship life!
We'll arrive next step with this experience, definitely!

Washi or Japanese traditional paper.
This is named Chiyogami which is greatly decorative paper. Chiyogami was developed about 17th c, the era of commoner's culture had been flourished. Its making process is similar to Ukiyoe, Japanese wood block painting. Use some wood blocks to dye some patterns ends so beautiful texture.Since the fiber of Japanese　paper is longer than western's, so it could stand to dye repeatedly.

Small Chiyogami papers were used for girls's doll playing, or Origami.
Bigger paper were used for wrapping gifts.

It is too grace to use them, I keep them for years.

There are some genre of Chiyogami, Edo chiyogami, Kyoto Chiyogami, and so on.
