We hope everyone enjoyed the 70th annual Sennichie Summer Festival, held yesterday on the shore of Kumihama Bay!
Even though the floating lanterns were cancelled this year due to high winds, the fireworks were launched without a hitch, making the water glow vibrantly alongside the Daimoji of Kabutoyama.

Wadaiko Masaya 10th Anniversary Concert Tour Kyotango Performance 2026

“Wadaiko Masaya,” is a group dedicated to bringing the power of traditional Japanese drumming to audiences across the nation, based in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. Kyoto/Kyotango Flower Park

Colorful tulips, moss phlox, and double-blooming cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
“Hanago OKADA,” one of the largest flower parks in Kyoto Prefecture, has opened! 🌷
Spanning an area about five times the size of Koshien Stadium,
you can enjoy the splendor of spring—a sight that can only be seen.
The park has been bustling with visitors since it was opened.
Inside the park, they’re selling strawberries and strawberry daifuku made on their own farm 🍓

Hanareko Park - Night Illumination -

Hanareko is known as the largest lake in Kyoto Prefecture.
From late March, the cherry blossoms reach their peak, and approximately 500 Somei-Yoshino trees and wild cherry trees planted around the lake burst into bloom.
At night, lanterns are lit, allowing you to enjoy the magical sight of Hanareko’s nighttime cherry blossoms.
We recommend taking a stroll in the park during the illumination.

The largest Jizo statue in Kyoto gets its winter coat!

Every November 23rd, locals in Kyotango dress Heiji Jizo—Kyoto’s tallest stone guardian deity—in a straw hood and coat weighing 60kg. A unique tradition that marks the arrival of winter.
Nearby, a local farmer's market sells locally grown fruits and vegetables, and also original drip coffee with a Heiji Jizo illustration, which is a perfect souvenir to take home!
