The space is just incredible, the building is just 5 minutes walk from my place but never visited before.

Jushin Ksiksn, an Art Deco building covered by ivy, completely ruin as itself.

I loved the photos installation and the curation.

Tucked beside Chishaku-in Temple in Higashiyama, this family-run gem hides a secret: a live tank right at the counter. Pick your fish or prawn — Chef Jun prepares it on the spot, and serves the same ingredient two ways, balancing the flavors so each bite tells a different story. Sashimi, sushi, tempura, dashimaki — all crafted with quiet pride.
智積院のすぐそば、東山七条の路地に佇む隠れた名店。カウンターには生簀があり、お好みの魚をその場で〆て一品に。同じ素材を2通りの食べ方で、味を合わせて出してくれるのが沖よし流。大将・ジュンさんの確かな仕事に、地元客も旅人も思わず唸る一軒です。

築130年の京町家アートギャラリー

土足で上がれる和紙の階段

陶器、ガラス、漆、和紙、アート

ほしいものがいっぱいすぎて、困ります💦

とくに漆器で名高い輪島ご出身の作家さんの花器（この日はチューリップ）
布に漆を塗って形を作るので、持ち上げると軽いのだけれど、
見た目はどこかブロンズ？彫刻？

A 130-year-old Kyoto townhouse, quietly breathing as a gallery.
KYO AMAHARE

preserves every beam and shadow of this machiya, turning the architecture itself into part of the art. Ceramics, glass, lacquer, washi — works by over 30 artists exist in a stillness only this space can offer.
What stopped me: a vase by lacquer artist Jun Anzai, born from kansh*tsu — layers of cloth and urushi shaped into something both soft and strong. A piece I still dream of owning.

A comforting, unpretentious omakase experience in a traditional relaxing machiya setting.

Just a short walk from Gojo Station (Kyoto Municipal Subway), making it easy to meet friends coming from afar without worrying about time.

You can enjoy a traditional and basic kaiseki course for around ¥5,000.

Seasonal ingredients are prepared with care, offering a refined yet relaxed dining experience.
