7月の京都といえば、日本三大祭のひとつ「祇園祭」。
1か月にわたり街全体がお祭りムードに包まれ、山鉾巡行や宵山では、京都ならではの伝統と活気を間近で感じることができます。特に7月17日の前祭山鉾巡行と、24日の後祭山鉾巡行は見逃せない見どころです。

夕暮れになると提灯に灯りがともり、祇園囃子が響く街並みは、この季節だけの特別な景色。
京都の夏を五感で楽しめる、忘れられない思い出になるはずです。

Kyoto’s rainy season has come to an end, and summer has officially arrived! ☀️
July is one of the most exciting times to visit Kyoto, as the city comes alive with the famous Gion Matsuri, one of Japan’s most iconic festivals. Throughout the month, the streets are filled with beautifully decorated floats, traditional music, and a vibrant atmosphere. The grand Yamahoko Float Processions on July 17 and July 24 are the festival’s main highlights.
As evening falls, glowing lanterns and the sound of Gion Bayashi create a magical atmosphere that can only be experienced during this special season.

June in Kyoto marks the rainy season, so you can expect more rainy days than in other months. However, it is also a wonderful time to enjoy the beauty of the season.

At 🪷 Mimuroto-ji Temple and Fujinomori Shrine, the hydrangeas are in full bloom, while 🍁 Shinnyo-do Temple and Enkoji Temple offer stunning views of fresh green maple leaves before they turn red later in the year.

These seasonal spots are located relatively close to many popular sightseeing areas, so if you have some extra time during your stay, we highly recommend stopping by and experiencing Kyoto’s unique early-summer scenery! ✨

ベンズゲストハウスでは、一棟貸しの京町家宿「梅ノ戸庵」 https://share.google/7wMeoYiivN5BVVcPF 、元織物工場をリノベーションした宿泊施設「KOU Nishijin」https://share.google/Yhxa0kGGLnokftr8f と協力して運営しております。

先日、KOU Nishijinでは、お風呂と足湯を備えた中庭がリニューアルされ、四季折々の京都らしい風情をより身近に感じていただける空間へと生まれ変わりました。西陣は古くから織物の街として知られ、京都らしい町並みが残るエリアです。

中庭には美しい枝垂れ桜🌸と紅葉🍁が植えられており、お風呂には檜風呂をご用意しております。京都の静かな時間を楽しみながら、ゆったりとお過ごしいただけます。

最大10名様までご宿泊可能ですので、ご家族やご友人とのグループ旅行、また京都滞在をもう少し楽しみたい方にもおすすめです。

We are truly grateful to welcome guests from all over the world, as well as visitors from across Japan.

In addition to Ben's Guest House, we also collaborate with two unique accommodation properties in Kyoto: the traditional Kyoto townhouse Umenoto-an and KOU Nishijin, a beautifully renovated property that was originally a textile factory located in Kyoto’s historic Nishijin district, an area famous for its long weaving tradition and traditional townscape.

Recently, KOU Nishijin completed a renovation of its courtyard, featuring a private bath and footbath area. The renewed space allows guests to experience the beauty of Kyoto’s changing seasons in a peaceful and authentic setting.

The courtyard is adorned with a graceful weeping cherry tree in spring 🌸 and vibrant maple leaves in autumn 🍁, while the bath itself is a traditional Japanese cypress (hinoki) bath, offering a relaxing and memorable Kyoto experience.

With accommodation for up to 10 guests, KOU Nishijin is an excellent choice for families, groups of friends, or anyone wishing to extend their stay and enjoy more of Kyoto’s charm.

5月は猛暑日になる日もありましたが、比較的過ごしやすい気温が続いています。
晴れている日も多く、街中だけではなく自然を感じられるスポットにも観光客が沢山見受けられますね🏔
私も先日、生まれて初めて富士山のある山梨に行く事が出来ました！🗻
京都・大阪、東京からも高速バス🚌が出ているので、宿泊日数に余裕のある方はぜひ行ってみてください！

May had a few extremely hot days, but overall the weather has been quite comfortable.
There have been many sunny days, and you can see plenty of tourists not only in the city but also at nature spots where they can enjoy the outdoors 🏔

I recently had the chance to visit Yamanashi, home to Mt. Fuji, for the first time in my life! 🗻
There are highway buses available from Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo 🚌, so if you have enough time during your stay, I highly recommend visiting!

The cherry blossom season has come to an end, and Japan is about to enter the long holiday period known as Golden Week.

In Kyoto, May to June is considered one of the most comfortable times of the year in terms of weather.

From next week through the following week, various food festivals 🍖 and limited-time events will be held across Kyoto to coincide with Golden Week.

4月がやってきました🌸
4月1日はあいにくの雨でしたが、ゲストハウスの近くの公園や歩いて10分の平野神社では枝垂れ桜が咲いています！
写真にある鴨川沿いも、桜の下で散歩や読書、ピクニックを楽しむ人で賑わっていました🧺

Unfortunately, it rained on April 1st, but the weeping cherry blossoms are in bloom at the park near the guesthouse and at Hirano Shrine, about a 10-minute walk away!

Along the Kamo River, shown in the photo, many people were enjoying walks, reading, and picnics under the cherry blossoms 🧺

今年の冬は大雪になる日もあり、とても寒い冬になりました！⛄️
春に向けて気温も温かくなり、日中は観光しやすい温度になっています。
近くの北野天満宮(写真3枚目)、城南宮(写真4枚目)では梅の花が見頃の季節になっています🌸
桜に比べ比較的混雑せずに観覧できるのでぜひ行ってみて下さい！

This winter brought several days of heavy snowfall, making it a very cold season! ⛄️
As we head into spring, the temperatures are getting warmer, and it’s becoming very comfortable for sightseeing during the day.
At Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (photo 3) and Jonangu Shrine (photo 4), the plum blossoms are now in full bloom 🌸

Compared to cherry blossoms, the crowds are usually lighter, so you can enjoy viewing them at a more relaxed pace. Be sure to check them out if you have the chance!

正月が明け、観光客も落ち着いてマイペースに観光を楽しむ事が出来るシーズンになりました！⛄️

寒い季節ですが1月25日は初天神【北野天満宮】で、蚤の市が開催されたり⛩
2月1日～5月24日までは、アーティストとのコラボで北野天満宮の梅の庭で毎日ライトアップが催され、冬から春への移り変わりを楽しむ事が出来ます！🌸

With the New Year festivities over, it’s now a season when the number of tourists settles down and you can enjoy sightseeing at your own pace! ⛄️
Although it’s a cold time of year, on January 25 the Hatsutenjin festival is held at Kitano Tenmangū Shrine, where a flea market takes place as well ⛩
From February 1 to May 24, there will be a daily illumination in the shrine’s plum garden, created in collaboration with various artists. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy the transition from winter to spring!🌸

Shimaitenjin refers to the final major temple market of the year, held every December 25th at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto.
