The Gion Matsuri Festival is comming in a week!😍😍😍
This event is one of Japan’s three major festivals, alongside the Kanda Matsuri in Tokyo and the Tenjin Matsuri in Osaka.

The Gion Matsuri originated over 1,000 years ago to ward off plagues and epidemics and is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.🤓🥸🤓🥸
While festivities take place throughout July, the main highlights are the grand float processions on the 17th and 24th.

July 24th is the highlight of the Gion Festival's Ato-matsuri (Latter Festival), featuring the "Yamahoko Junko (Ato-matsuri Parade)" and "Hanagasa Junko (Flower Umbrella Parade)" starting at 9:30 AM, followed by the "Kanko-sai (Deity Return Festival / Mikoshi Procession)" from around 4:00 PM.

Some of these architectural marvels stand up to 25 meters (82 feet) tall. 😲😲😲
To secure a good view, people often arrive hours in advance to endure the scorching summer heat.🥵🥵🥵
To enjoy the experience comfortably, we offer a 3-hour walking tour from the Kyoto Tourist Information Center.
Our "KTIC Friends Kyoto Gion Festival and Nishiki Market Walking Tour" includes reserved seating, so you can watch the procession without "standing" in the heat. Your assistant will guide you to your seat and accompany you to the entrance of the Nishiki Food Market for local shopping and dining.💁‍♀️💁‍🍤🍡🍭👛

Only one day to enjoy!!😆😆😆

Please join us on a walking tour to explore the sumo provincial tour in Kyoto and whisky tasting at Suntory Yamazaki.🥃🥃
There is no Grand Sumo Tournament here in Kyoto, but almost every year we have a provincial tour.
Jungyo (provincial tours) are held for the purpose of promoting the way of sumo, revitalizing local communities, and fostering youth.👩🧒🧑👦👩‍🦱
Provincial tours are where many Rikishi (sumo wrestlers) come and you get to see their practices by ranking, sumo matches and ring-entering ceremony.
Although this is not a “tournament”, but you’ll get to see different sides of the Rikishi.
If you have never watched sumo before, you might fall in love!😍😍😍
They are very friendly and approachable.

Tour begins at Hankyu Nishimuko station, 20-minute walk to the Muko Civic Gymnasium.🚃🚃🚃
During the 3-hour provincial tour, you can enjoy bento style Japanese lunch and tea.🍱🍵🥢🍱🍵🥢
And 3 souvenirs and pamphlet to take home with you!

After the sumo, take a small train ride to Suntory Yamazaki Museum for whisky tasting.🥃🥃
Yamazaki Museum is very hard to reserve the spot.
But, with us, it is guarantee!👍👍👍
Inside the museum, you can enjoy 3 glasses of one of the most though out whiskies, including Yamazaki 25, Hibiki 30, and Hakushu 25 and much more!🥃🥃
※Tour price doesn’t include the tasting fee. It will be an additional fee.👛👛👛
There is gift shop where you can buy exclusive items, and enjoy modules and panels and exhibits of beautiful and rare bottles.

For those you that are not interested in whisky tasting, we’ll take you to Asahi Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art for paintings of Water Lillies by Monet and art pieces from other local artists.🖼️👨‍🎨🖼️👩‍🎨🖼️

This is a 6 hour tour allowing you to enjoy the fullest!🚶‍♂️👟🧢🚶‍♀️‍➡️👒🚶
