Hi there! This is Kentaro from WANDER COMPASS KYOTO! Today I'd like to share my tour memory with the lovely French sisters, Laura Pigato & Pauline Pgt !!

I took them to the Japanese cultural experience tour at Ryoanji shopping street near the golden pavilion and Ryoanji temple, the "must-see" spots in Kyoto.

At the shopping street, we met the people who were "shiner" than the golden pavilion!!! The samurai master Mr. Katayama showed us the sword performance, which he has been training for more than 20 years.

Ms. Katsuyama is a master of the classical Japanese dance, which the well-known "Geisha" also practices. It was the first time for Laura and Pauline to see and practice the Japanese dance, so they were deeply amazed by the memorable experience.

The sisters said, "We were impressed by how nice and kind they were... What a wonderful experience with awesome people!"

Thank you Laura Pigato & Pauline Pgt for joining our tour :) I hope to see you guys soon!

Hello, guys.
I’m Natsuki from Wander Compass Kyoto.

Today, I’d like to share a tour memory with two lovely friends, Tiago Neves de Mello and Yui Sensui from Brazil and Japan:)
We went to Omi-hachiman in Shiga, which is a prefecture next to Kyoto!
Most travelers don’t know about this place, but it is actually a must-visit hidden place you should visit with your friends!
We went through this calm town by bicycle. Tiago has hardly ever seen the view of countryside like tons of rice fields, so he stopped to walk several times and took many pictures!
Local people were eager to teach local craft and food to Tiago, and tried to talk with him in English.
Cycling in the peaceful and cozy town while talking about many various things made us feel that we were back to childhood ! haha

Thank you Tiago and Yui, I can’t wait to go on a next trip with you guys!

Hello/Konnichiwa, how are you doing?
I am Yui from WANDER COMPASS Kyoto.

I would like to share one memory with Sylvie, a friend from France.

As a little treat for ourselves before going up to Fushimi-inari Shrine, we first grabbed a cup of coffee and got ready to enjoy ourselves there. In fact, this day was the first day of us seeing each other, yet as you can guess, we became real friends very quickly through talking.

Both of us were impressed by how accurately thousands of Torii gates are aligned with each other in the same space. We could luckily catch the moment that a man was writing the name of the company with ink on the donated Torii!

It was so satisfying that we were taking a seat on the bench together seeing the scenery and having a conversation after walking up to the middle of the mountain...

Everything I have done with her is
now my MEMORY.

Hope to see you soon Sylvie!

Hi, guys! I’m Leo!

Today, I’d like to share a story about “Sake festival.”

On the 23rd of March, Fushimi Sake brewery association held the festival called "Kurabiraki" (open brewery), where many sake breweries open markets and sell new Sake and food.
WANDER COMPASS Staff planned to join it, then luckily we had two wonderful friends, Gordon and Stefano.
Let me give you a quick introduction of each of our friends.
Gordon loves Sake very much and knows about it much more than ordinary Japanese people.
Stefano has a license of a wine sommelier.
We went to Gekkeikan brewery first and got drunk soon because you can have many shots at a very reasonable price.
We had a small chat with the brewery staff, and they were so glad to see that foreigners are enjoying Sake.
Even Gordon and Stefano got shooter for free sometimes!
We also hopped some more breweries and got utterly drunk.
It became the best Sake experience ever thanks to great friends.

Hello, I’m Ryuki, wander compass stuff and university student in Kyoto.

This time, I want to introduce a tour of Barbara’s family from Germany.
Her son had got married to a Japanese woman. So, they came to Japan to join the ceremony.

We walked around Ginkakuji temple, the path of philosophy and Gion.
Before the tour, we got excited over talking about each country!!

We tried to take the bus to Ginkakuji temple, but I heard that cherry blossoms were blooming in the Imperial Palace. So, we dropped by the Imperial Palace.

Many people enjoy a picnic in this week. We took great pictures there.

While walking, we talked together how good journey is. In fact, I’m planning to go around the world for 5 months this July.

Then, a miracle happened as we went to the end of the path of philosophy.
We bumped into a couple from Vietnam who had attended the wedding.
We had lunch together and became friends!

I talked about many things such as German culture, sociology, family and so on..
We had an excellent day.

Thank you for becoming our friends:)
