The Suikoushya Advanced Class for graduates at Daikakuji Temple has come to a successful close.
It was a precious time — a chance to truly work with our hands and let the hand-tool tuning methods and techniques we learned in the one-month class sink into our bodies. I feel this experience was a moment where the knowledge that had until now existed only as scattered "points" finally connected into a single "line." I'm truly glad to have witnessed that moment together with you all.
Please carry what you gained from this experience home with you carefully. And when you return to your countries, share that same passion with your friends, family, and fellow woodworking enthusiasts.
We're looking forward to seeing all of your future achievements! Keep enjoying woodworking!

Next Real Construction Project🔨
The charming little kominka will be relocated to Kyoto in 2027!
The "magic of relocation" is about so much more than just changing a building's address.
It’s a journey of dismantling the entire structure piece by piece, identifying the unique "character" of every single pillar, carefully cleaning and repairing each aged element, and finally, breathing new life into it on the sacred soil of Kyoto.
This "Grand Relocation Project" is an exclusive Advanced Class for Suikoushya 1-month course graduates only.
We can’t wait to reunite with our graduates in Kyoto and work together on this incredible bridge between tradition and the future!
Stay tuned!
