Hello everyone!
Not only are temperatures reaching up to 33C today, but it is also really humid and it looks like it will stay like that for a while.

Also, today is your last chance to get a 'summer' sticker after your rickshaw tour. As of tomorrow, September 1st, we will be handing out the 'autumn' stickers after each ride.

The summer sticker is the yellow one and the autumn one is the orange one Ebisuke is holding in each of his tiny hands.

If you collect one sticker from each season, you will receive a special gift from Ebisuya!

Hello everyone!
Though we only had 31C yesterday, it was so sticky all day!
Though the temperatures went down a bit, measures against heat stroke should not be ignored.

Today's rickshaw is called Kaburaya. Kaburaya is a special type of arrow which makes a whistling sound once in the air and used by samurai in ritual archery exchanges before going into battle.
With this rickshaw, once the guide starts pulling it, it is said that it makes a nice sound!

Hello from Kamakura again!
The temperatures have dropped to 32C!
It's probably effect of the typhoon.
Even for such a weather, we have a suitable rickshaw. The one in the picture is called 'Sokai', which means refreshing and invigorating!

Hello from Kamakura!
It's sunny again and temperatures are reaching 35℃!
Though it might be tempting to cool down by eating lots of ice cream on a day like this, be sure to hydrate and intake those salts and minerals as well!

Today's rickshaw is called 'Kurofune' (lit. black ships, as in 'Commodore Perry's black ships').

With the beautiful sunny weather these days, the guides have been getting quite the tan! Today too, they will be running around in Kamakura!

Hi there!
Today too, the thermostat indicated 34C! It's the weekend and the sun is out, but please don't forget to take care of your body during this hot summer weather.
Today's rickshaw is called 'hana' and it can mean a variety of things: 'flower', 'beauty', 'glorious, lovely', 'splendour'.
Come and see which one of these interpretations would best apply to your tour with us in Kamakura!

It's still summer so... another 'warm' day in Kamakura, with temperatures reaching around 33C.
Every single rickshaw at Ebisuya (nationwide) has a name plate (as opposed to a number plate like a car) and though we have already introduces a couple to you, this one has an outstanding name:
ひっしょう (hissho)
it contains the two characters 必 and 笑 which mean 'inevitably' and 'laugh' respectively.
'wow, the expectation to laugh is quite high' you may think, but our guides and this rickshaw will not only make you laugh, but rather make you roar of laughter!

Good morning!
It's a sunny day in Kamakura, occasionally cloudy and hot with 34C (but feels like 38C?).
On hot days like this, a big cooler with Pocari Sweat (health drink that contains a balance of ions (electrolytes) that resembles the natural fluid balance in the human body) and salt (rock salt from Germany) are highly recommended by Ebisuke as measures against heat exhaustion and stroke.

After each tour our guides take a rest and cool down so they will be ready to give refreshing tours!

Good morning everyone!

It's Monday! The Bon Festival ('Obon' in Japanese) is over but summer isn't so be sure to not only drink water but also replace the salts and minerals in your body to reduce the risk of a heat stroke.

Today's featured rickshaw is 'Haru Ichiban' (meaning: 'first storm of spring').
Though the 'beginning of autumn' has already passed (on August 11th, according to the calendar**) we are still in the middle of summer. So we'll just energize ourselves while thinking of spring. Why not.

** 'beginning of autumn' also known as 立秋(risshu), dates way back to when Japan used the Chinese calendar. The 'seasonal days' (to mark the change of the seasons) were based on the climate in Northern China. Though these days do not correspond with the Japanese climate, some 'seasonal days' like 'beginning of autumn' and 'middle of spring' and 'middle of winter' are still being used in today's every day life.

Greetings from our Kamakura branch again!
Temperatures are expected to rise even more these coming days, with 34C for today (but remember, temperatures in the sun are even higher!)
Seek the shade when outside and be sure to hydrate BEFORE you start to feel thirsty!
Today our Ebisuke mascot is posing in front of the rickshaw which has 'Himawari' (sun flower) written on its plaque.
Our guides smile brighter than the sun or the sunflower can, see it for yourself when you come for a tour with us!

Good morning everyone!
Today in Kamakura, temperatures are supposed to reach 33C again!
While we are on the 3rd day of the 4-day Obon period (Obon = a Japanese Buddhist custom to honour the spirits of one's ancestors. Generally, during this time people hold family reunions and go visit and clean their ancestors' graves as this is the time the spirits of the ancestors are supposed to visit), please don't forget to take of yourself too; take care against the COVID-19 as well as staying hydrated on such hot days.

Today's recommended guide is Ryota KATO,
who is passionate about the 'Pro Evolution Soccer' video games.
While he excels in the game, he can do the same when it comes to giving rickshaw tours! You'll see once you take a tour with him!
