The garden was designed by Musou Soseki, a legendary monk and gardener.

He aligned the garden to incorporate the mountain range as a background giving the garden a magestic depth which layer became a gardening practice known as Shakkei (borrowing a view from nature)⛰️⛰️⛰️✨
