BROMPTONスローサイクリングツアーは、
海外からのお客様が殆どなのですが、
ずっと日本人が楽しく日本の歴史文化を体感できるシリーズ物のツアーを企画したいなと構想を練っていて、
今日はそのモニターツアーを京都で実施させていただきました。
テーマは「平安京」で、
京都の町中をBROMPTONと一緒に散策！
観光地でない場所ながら面白い発見があり、
平安時代の装束を体験できる場所などを皆様とめぐりました。
これから新しいツアー企画ができていくのが楽しみです😊

Most of our BROMPTON slow cycling tours are for international customers, but I've been planning a series of tours where Japanese people can enjoy experiencing Japanese history and culture. Today, we conducted a test tour in Kyoto.
The theme was "Heian-kyo" (ancient Kyoto), and we explored the city with our Brompton bikes!
We made some interesting discoveries in places that aren't typical tourist spots, and we visited places where you can try on Heian-period clothing.
I'm looking forward to developing new tour plans in the future!

今日から6月ですが、
蝉が鳴いていないだけで夏のように暑い一日でしたねʕ⁠ ⁠º⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠ ⁠º⁠ʔ
台風の進路が心配でしたが、
オーストラリアからお越しのお客様と、
宇治スローサイクリングを楽しむことができました。
宇治上神社さんで皆様お揃いの「うさぎ形おみくじ」をご購入。
宇治神社と宇治上神社は「兎」が神様の使いですので、
御朱印や御守など兎のお土産が人気です！

It's June starting today, but it was a hot day like summer, even though the cicadas weren't chirping ʕ​​º​​​ᴥ​​​º​ʔ
We were worried about the typhoon's path, but we were able to enjoy slow cycling in Uji with our guests from Australia.
Everyone bought matching "rabbit-shaped fortune slips" at Ujigami Shrine.
At Uji Shrine and Ujigami Shrine, rabbits are messengers of the gods, so rabbit-themed souvenirs such as goshuin (shrine stamps) and amulets are popular!

Rさんが宇治スローサイクリングのナビゲーターデビューして、
無事にツアーの現場をまわしてくれましたฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ
同じコースでもリードとサポートでは、
旅程管理から案内まで責任が全く違ってくるので、
大変なこともあっとかと思いますが、
お客様にも楽しんでいただけたようで嬉しく思います😊

R-san made her debut as a navigator for Uji Slow Cycling, and she successfully managed the tour!
Even on the same course, the responsibilities of leading and supporting are completely different, from itinerary management to guiding, so I'm sure there were some challenging moments, but I'm glad that the customers seemed to enjoy it.

本日はオーストラリア＆オランダからお越しのお客様と、
祖谷渓スローサイクリング！
お客様は今回の日本への旅で、
しまなみ海道を走っておられるサイクリング好きの皆様でしたので、
新緑の眩しい祖谷川に沿ったコースを存分にお楽しみいただくことができましたฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ

Today, we enjoyed a slow cycling trip through Iya Valley with guests from Australia and the Netherlands!
Our guests were cycling enthusiasts who had already cycled the Shimanami Kaido during their trip to Japan, so they thoroughly enjoyed the course along the lush green Iya River.

本日はドイツと新婚旅行でニューヨークからお越しのお客様と宇治スローサイクリング！
新婚旅行などの記念の旅行で日本を選んで、
宇治のツアーにご参加いただけたことを嬉しく思います😊
さらに今日は新人ナビゲーターのRさんが先を走ってくれて頼もしかったです。
これからは現場を任せられるナビゲーターの育成にも尽力していきたいですね！

Today we took a slow cycling tour of Uji with guests from Germany and New York on their honeymoon!
We are so happy that they chose Japan for their special trip, such as their honeymoon, and joined our Uji tour 😊
Furthermore, our new navigator, R, led the way today, which was very reassuring.
From now on, we want to dedicate ourselves to training navigators who can be entrusted with the field!

本日は、
ニュージーランドとアメリカからお越しのお客様と、
宇治スローサイクリング！
お客様は四国遍路をされてきており、
日本の寺社仏閣はたくさん見られてきたとのことで、
宇治の象徴ともいえる平等院鳳凰堂をスキップされましたが、とにかく宇治の抹茶を楽しみたいとのこと。
茶蕎麦や抹茶＆甘味をいただいたり、
ゆっくりお土産用のお茶を吟味されたり、結果的に色々とお楽しみいただけたようで安心しました。
普段のツアーでは行程にないお店も立ち寄ってみると新しい発見がありますね！

Today, we took customers from New Zealand and the United States on a slow cycling tour of Uji!
The customers had just completed the Shikoku Pilgrimage and had seen many temples and shrines in Japan, so they skipped Byodo-in Phoenix Hall, a symbol of Uji, but were determined to enjoy Uji matcha.
They enjoyed tea soba noodles, matcha and sweets, and leisurely selected teas as souvenirs. I was relieved to see that they ultimately enjoyed themselves in many ways.
It's great to discover new things by stopping at shops that aren't usually on our tour itineraries!

今日は下り坂の天気予報でしたが、
雨にはやられず無事にオーストラリアとアメリカからお越しのお客様と宇治スローサイクリング！
日本の可愛い小物を集めていらっしゃるお客様は、
宇治神社＆宇治上神社にて兎型おみくじと絵馬をご購入されで、
浅草寺から御朱印を集め始めて、中山道をめぐられているお客様は、
平等院をはじめツアー中に立ち寄る寺社仏閣にて御朱印帳が大活躍！
それぞれの形で日本文化をお楽しみいただくことができ、
良い一日となりましたʕ⁠·⁠ᴥ⁠·⁠ʔ

Today's weather forecast predicted deteriorating conditions, but we were spared the rain and enjoyed a smooth Uji slow cycling trip with customers from Australia and the United States!
One customer, who collects cute Japanese trinkets, purchased rabbit-shaped fortune slips and votive tablets at Uji Shrine and Ujigami Shrine. Another customer, who started collecting temple stamps at Senso-ji Temple and is touring the Nakasendo Road, found their stamp book incredibly useful at the temples and shrines we visited during the tour, including Byodo-in Temple!
It was a wonderful day, with everyone enjoying Japanese culture in their own way.

本日も全米各地からお越しのお客様と、
宇治スローサイクリング！
もう四半世紀ほど前のことになってしまいますが、
アメリカを車で一人旅したときに立ち寄った町から、
日本にお客様がお越しになっていることに感慨深い思いを抱く今日この頃ですʕ⁠·⁠ᴥ⁠·⁠ʔ

Today, we enjoyed slow cycling in Uji with customers who had come from all over the United States!
It's been about a quarter of a century since then, but I'm deeply moved to see customers coming to Japan from towns I visited during my solo road trip across America.
