Tokyo 2020 is going to start!! 🤩 Oh well, not as people from all over the world 🌎 wished, but here we are after 1 year of postponing, lots of dilemmas and challenges caused by a worldwide pandemic. This is the second time Tokyo will be hosting the Games. At Tokyo 1964, the city welcomed about 5.000 athletes from 93 countries and showcased a Japan’s post war recovery.

This time at Tokyo 2020 (+1), we can expect 11.000 athletes from over 200 countries. At this point, under a state of emergency, all we can do is to support our favorites athletes on the 33 sports from home (5 will be debuting). 🥋🧗‍♀️🛹 ⚾️ 🏄‍♂️

But I am sure people will wish to visit Japan 🇯🇵 and this mature city as soon we back into a new page and a new tourism!

A tourism focused on experiences, off the beaten track, gastronomy, culture, nature and much more!! 🧗‍♀️

See you soon in Japan! 😉

All the best to every athletes and delegations!! 🌎 ➡️🇯🇵😍

Tired of city life during the winter? Hiking around Chiiwa Valley is awesome, it is stretched 3 kilometers along the upper Chiiwa River, a branch of Uregawa River. Rocky Chiiwa Mountain is 670 meters high and has several caves in its mass.

The largest cave has breast-like stalactites hanging from ceiling, after which the mountain was named (Chiiwa means breast rock).

🇬🇧 Replying to requests from wonderful people who saw the last post / stories, here some more info's about the “Go to Travel” campaign in Japan, after all the government campaign is aimed at all of us residents and if you enjoy travel, this can be a great time.. beginning of koyo 🍁 (autumn), discounts of UP TO 50% (35% related to accommodation / flights + 15% in coupons). It's a great chance to discover Japan from Hokkaido to Okinawa! 😍 And finally, after 2 months, TOKYO residents are also included.. yes, we have joined the other 46 provinces! 🤙
As Japan is still closed to big part of the world, the campaign will be valid until January 31, 2021 only for residents. The aim of the campaign is to boost the economy through domestic tourism under hygiene & safety procedures!
Let's go to the point, remembering that the rules may eventually change later, ok?
DISCOUNTS: for daily trips, the maximum discount limit is ¥ 10,000 per day / person. For overnight trips (most of the cases), the limit discount is ¥ 20,000 per night / person.
To earn the discounts for both hotels and domestic flights (main expenses) it is highly recommended to make RESERVATIONS and purchase PACKAGES with registered companies and travel agencies (such as major ones like JTB, HIS, Rakuten etc), or directly on the official website Go to Travel (in Japanese only) and it seems Booking is also on the list.
COUPONS: coupons issued by the agencies are for use at the destination, within the Go to Eat & Go Shopping campaigns. Remembering that it is always good to verify what businesses are in the campaign (restaurants, omiage stores, souvenirs etc.) that are registered! Coupons are non-refundable and you cannot receive change when paying with them. Coupons are distributed in physical or electronic format and you receive them through travel agencies or at the reserved hotel.
.
Now the hard part is choosing where to travel!! Do you already know your destinations in Japan?! 🍁🍣🗼🍶🚣‍♂️ 🏯 🚴🏻‍♂️🏝🌋 Here are some ideas + others in the highlights!👆😉

🇬🇧 Hi guys! Since Tokyo did a good job in Aug~Sep, we will be joining the rest of Japan on the national “Go to Travel” campaign from today (Oct 1st), so now everyone from here will be able to travel all over Japan and vice verse under the campaign!! (I should have waited for that!) 😁
Anyways, let me tell you that Tokyo Pref. (province), besides the famous world class metropolis, we have remote islands in the Pacific coast. They are amazing!!🤩 For FURTHER INFORMATION, please visit and ENJOY a paradise that doesn’t look Tokyo at all!! 😂
This is a SPECIAL POST, because in this week, we are celebrating World Tourism Day and this year motif is “Tourism & Rural Development" by .
This is also aligned with strategies for international travelers after you guys start visiting Japan again.
Of course, Tokyo (city) will be always on the list, but I do think we need to support others regions out of the big cities. This trend may mitigate the risk of infections as well.
is probably one of the most affected cities in the world, economically speaking. postponement was a pity (for the right reasons, of course) but the losses have being tremendous, especially for those who put efforts to welcome visitors in 2020 such as small businesses in general, myself, etc etc.
More than ever, we need to support small and local entrepreneurs anywhere in the world! Let’s keep doing our best and pray for worldwide! 😉 😍 🤙

Hey guys! Today is holiday in Japan! Respect for the Aged Day. On this holiday, people return home to visit and pay respect to the elders. Domestic travel seems to be increasing as Japan is doing a good job against the pandemic! (Stories / highlights)! But UN data shows that Japan's proportion of elderly people is the highest in the world. The number of people aged 65 or older was a record of 36.17 million, which is a challenge for the nation in the long term.
Anyways, when we respect the aged ones, we show ourselves to be honorable.😉
2. Kane Tanaka holds the Guinness World Records title of the world's oldest living person. She is 117 years old, born in Fukuoka on January 2, 1903.😳
3. A local Japanese from Shodoshima Island, Kagawa province. He used to work for Marukin (soy sauce company). I never expected Marukin was set up in this fascinating island. 🌊
4. Multiple city tours with a lovely Canadian couple in their 70-80’s 🥰

🇬🇧 Did you know Tokyo has two main international airports?
There are several ways to get to Tokyo from Narita and Haneda airports and all depends on needs and contexts (your hotel location, time of arrival, JR Pass holder or not etc etc). For example, some flights may take up to 14 hours from the USA and Europe or even more than 24 hours from South America. If you land at Haneda (HND), it’s ok! But most of international flights land at Narita Airport, which is about 70Km from downtown Tokyo. So, let’s focus on NRT (Narita Airport):
- By train: from different companies and lines, (Keisei) Skyliner and (JR) N’EX Narita Express are some of my recommendations. Fares: about USD25~50 (one way / round trip).
- By bus (limousine bus): an economical way to get to downtown or main hotels in the city and 2 bags per person are allowed. Fare: around USD30
- Shared mini bus: this service also takes passengers to hotels like Limousine buses, but you share it with a few people. Fare: around USD60
- By taxi: as NRT is far away, a taxi ride to Tokyo costs around USD250
- By private van service exclusively for your family / group non stop to your hotel.
There are so many options! I just pointed out some of the main ways. Actually Tokyo is kind of a crazy city, thus you can also get some others transportations starting from USD10 to USD500~ (by Helicopter per person) 😂
