This dramatic photograph shows a kingfisher in the act of catching its prey. The combination of outstretched wings and the splashing water captures the power and dynamism of the bird’s movement. Choosing a fast shutter speed allows you to capture fleeting moments like this sharply, without motion blur. Shooting a continuous burst of images maximizes your chances of capturing the decisive moment. Using a moderately wide aperture allows you to blur the background while letting in more light, helping to preserve natural colors and make your subject stand out.

Did you know about murals in the Kondō Hall of Hōryūji Temple, widely regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of ancient Buddhist painting? Although the murals were severely damaged in a fire 77 years ago, valuable color information survived in glass plate negatives photographed through color filters before the disaster. Using this data, we successfully recreated the murals’ original colors through scientific restoration technology.

The restored murals have been brought back to life as ultra high-definition color images using Fujifilm’s FP-ZUH12000 interchangeable-lens projector. They are now on public display for the first time at Buddhist Paintings of Nara: Reviving the Splendor of Classical Tradition, which opened at the Nara National Museum on July 18.

Ahead of the exhibition, the restoration project was presented at a press briefing organized by the Hōryūji Kondō Hall Murals Preservation and Utilization Committee, attracting significant attention from both the media and exhibition visitors.

We are pleased to announce that FUJIFILM Corporation and Taiho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. have entered into a strategic partnership agreement for the development of manufacturing technologies for next-generation antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). ADCs are medicines that combine antibodies capable of recognizing specific target cells with payloads such as cytotoxic agents.

In recent years, ADCs have attracted significant attention as next-generation biopharmaceuticals capable of achieving both high therapeutic efficacy and reduced side effects. As a result, research and development activities in this field have been expanding rapidly worldwide. At the same time, ADC manufacturing requires highly sophisticated technologies. Therefore, establishing manufacturing capabilities that can consistently and efficiently produce high quality ADCs has become a critical industry challenge.

Under this partnership, the two companies will work to optimize manufacturing processes for ADC candidates. By combining Taiho Pharmaceutical’s expertise and capabilities in ADC drug discovery with Fujifilm’s process development and manufacturing technologies cultivated through its biologics CDMO business, the companies aim to achieve stable production of high-quality ADCs and enhance their global competitiveness in the next-generation ADC field.

We are pleased to announce the launch of “FUJIFILM Prescale Station A3” (“Prescale Station A3”), an A3-size model of “FUJIFILM Prescale Station,” a dedicated pressure image analysis system for “Prescale” pressure measurement film. “Prescale Station A3” has been available since July 22, 2026.

“Prescale” is a film that visualizes the balance and distribution of contact pressure and surface pressure between objects, and Fujifilm holds a leading global market share for this product. When pressure is applied, the film turns red, and the density of the color visually indicates the strength and distribution of the pressure. “Prescale Station” is a system that quantifies pressure by capturing the color patterns developed on “Prescale” film using a high-resolution Factory Automation (FA) camera.

In recent years, pressure inspection has become increasingly important in various manufacturing processes. In the semiconductor field in particular, requirements for accurate and stable bonding and sealing have become more stringent in wafer bonding processes, where wafers and chips are bonded, and in packaging processes, where completed chips are protected and mounted.

“Prescale Station A3” is capable of analyzing images of wafer-shaped “Round Prescale” for 12-inch (300 mm) wafers widely used in semiconductor manufacturing. It captures the developed “Prescale” image using a built-in high-resolution FA camera and LED lighting, and efficiently analyzes and stores pressure data by combining Fujifilm’s advanced image processing and optical technologies.

On July 22, Julia Longbottom, British Ambassador to Japan, visited Fujifilm Toyama Chemical’s manufacturing facility in Toyama.

Through its pharmaceutical and Bio CDMO businesses, the Fujifilm Group is committed to ensuring a stable supply of medicines and advancing the life sciences industry. The Bio CDMO facility visited during the tour operates with the same equipment and quality management systems as FUJIFIM Biotechnology’s UK site in Billingham, which opened in February this year. This alignment enables rapid technology transfer between the two sites and shortens construction lead times.

During the visit, participants exchanged views on collaboration and personnel exchanges between the Billingham site in the UK and the Toyama site, as well as on the development of biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.

We will continue to contribute to the advancement of healthcare and life sciences through collaboration with global partners, including those in the United Kingdom.

We are pleased to announce the launch of “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR ZUH12000” (FP‑ZUH12000), an interchangeable‑lens projector that supports high‑definition 4K projection and delivers a maximum brightness of 12,000 lumens (*1). The new model will be available from August 6, 2026.

In recent years, there has been a growing need for high definition image projection even in brightly lit environments, particularly for immersive museums, experience centers, corporate showrooms, and commercial facilities. To meet these rising expectations, we have developed this new model.

Equipped with the latest DLP® (*2) chip in its image processing unit, this new projector delivers bright, high‑definition 4K images. Compared with “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR ZUH6000”, it achieves twice the brightness, making it ideal for exhibitions and presentations in large spaces with ambient light, such as corporate showrooms and commercial facilities. Enhanced contrast also improves the reproduction of deep blacks, contributing to more dimensional and realistic visual expression.

FP-ZUH12000 is the first model in the Z Series to feature an interchangeable-lens design. Combined with newly developed optional lenses, the new model provides high‑definition 4K imagery not only for immersive spatial design but also for applications that require high brightness in large halls and conference rooms.

FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation announced the donation of a total of 50 million yen to Kumamoto prefecture to support those affected by the disaster and recovery efforts in the region.

In addition, Fujifilm will offer discounted repair services for repairable Fujifilm digital cameras, interchangeable lenses, instant photo system, binoculars and FUJIFILM Business Innovation products that were affected by this disaster. Details are announced in Japanese on the corporate websites.
