We are pleased to announce that we have developed, for the first time in the world, a fluorine-free (*1) negative ArF immersion photoresist (*2) as a material developed with environmental considerations in mind used in advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. The newly developed fluorine-free ArF immersion photoresist is a negative-tone photoresist specifically designed for ArF immersion lithography (*3) and is compatible with advanced nodes used in the manufacturing of AI semiconductors, for which demand continues to grow. FUJIFILM has begun providing samples of the new photoresist to customers and aims for early commercialization following customer evaluations.

Going forward, we plan to apply our fluorine-free resist technologies and know-how to other advanced photoresists, including those for EUV lithography, to further promote fluorine-free solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

*1 Fluorine-free means that organic compounds containing carbon–fluorine bonds, including perfluoroalkyl compounds and polyfluoroalkyl compounds, are not used as raw materials.
*2 Photosensitive material used to coat a wafer substrate when circuit patterns are drawn using photochemical reactions in the process of semiconductor manufacturing.
*3 An exposure method using ArF (argon fluoride) excimer laser light (wavelength 193 nm), which is currently the most widely used advanced lithography technology.

We will participate in "SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026," an international exhibition of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and materials, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 5 to7, 2026.

At SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026, we will showcase a comprehensive lineup of semiconductor materials covering nearly the entire semiconductor manufacturing process, from cutting-edge to legacy nodes, as a “One-Stop Solution.”

We will also introduce "ZEMATES™*," a brand of photosensitive insulating materials for semiconductor back-end processes, enhancing the reliability of semiconductor packaging.

With this extensive portfolio, we aim to support the further growth of the rapidly expanding back-end market and the semiconductor industry in Southeast Asia, including neighboring countries such as Vietnam.

We will continue our technological development and accelerate the provision of One-Stop Solution meeting diverse customer needs, thereby contributing to the further advancement of the global semiconductor industry.

*ZEMATES is a registered trademark or trademark of FUJIFILM Corporation.

We are pleased to announce that it is offsetting 100 percent of our group companies’ electricity usage in the United States and Canada through renewable energy certificates. This step in lowering Fujifilm’s global carbon footprint was realized through a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA)*. The initiative is estimated to correspond to approximately 90,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year on a market-based accounting basis. This represents approximately 10 percent of the Fujifilm Group’s global annual CO2 emissions of fiscal year ended March 2025 data.

Under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, Sustainable Value Plan 2030, FUJIFILM Holdings has established specific targets and initiatives that address climate change , promote circular resource use. To address climate change, the Fujifilm Group has set targets: to achieve net-zero GHG emissions from operations by fiscal year 2040 and to reduce GHG emissions across the entire product life cycle by 50%by fiscal year 2030.

*A Virtual PPA is a long-term agreement through which a company procures the environmental value of renewable energy generated by facilities such as solar power plants, without trading the electricity itself.

Take your shot!

In this photograph, by focusing on the centrally-placed tree spreading its branches underneath the shifting hues of the twilight sky, the photographer creates a sense has a quiet stillness. The light of the stars serves to highlight the gradual change from a lighter to a darker blue. By concentrating the silhouette of the tree in the lower half of the image and leaving empty space in the upper half, the composition highlights the wide expanse of the sky.

When photographing the sky at dawn or dusk, the technique you see here — keeping the overall image dark while incorporating variations in the light — is an effective way to capture the scene. Anchor your camera on a tripod, and select an adequate exposure time to ensure the final picture fluidly expresses the sky's gradations.
