Snow Monkey Park Launches Online Ticketing!

Planning a winter visit to the famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park? There’s an important change for the 2026–2027 winter season.

The park has launched online ticketing, making it easier to plan your visit in advance.

What you need to know:
• Tickets are date-specific
• Tickets can be purchased up to 3 months before your visit
• Visitors without an online ticket may need to wait before entering
• During busy periods, visitors without online tickets may be denied entry

Visiting by car?
Parking is very limited during winter, particularly over New Year and on weekends and public holidays from December through March. We recommend using the daily shuttle from Myoko direct to the park.

The park has also published a Winter Congestion Calendar showing the busiest dates, so it’s worth checking before planning your trip.

The Sekiyama Shrine Fire Festival has a history of more than 1,300 years, originating from the ancient worship of Mt Myoko. Today, it remains one of the area's most important traditional festivals, bringing together the local community to celebrate centuries of history and culture.
