Ceremony for the Certification of Preservers of Okinawa Prefecture's Designated Intangible Cultural Property: "Okinawan Karate and Kobujutsu"

We were honored to attend the official certification ceremony recognizing the Preservers of "Okinawan Karate and Kobujutsu," an Okinawa Prefecture Designated Intangible Cultural Property.

Our heartfelt congratulations to all the distinguished masters who received this recognition. We sincerely respect your lifelong dedication to preserving, passing on, and developing the traditions of Okinawan Karate and Kobujutsu.

Okinawan Karate is far more than a martial art—it is a priceless cultural heritage that embodies the history, philosophy, and spirit of Okinawa. The masters who continue to protect these traditions are invaluable treasures for Okinawa and for future generations.

A Grand master of Okinawan Karate paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Japan Karate Association, where both parties exchanged views on the future development of traditional karate and strengthened their mutual ties. This visit is expected to further enhance cooperation between Okinawa and mainland Japan in preserving and promoting karate culture.
Ageshio Japan continues to serve as a vital bridge between Okinawan Karate and Japanese mainland karate, facilitating communication, cultural exchange, and deeper mutual understanding between the two traditions.

沖縄空手の長老が、日本空手協会総本部を表敬訪問し、両者は伝統空手の発展に向けた意見交換を行い、親交を深めました。
本訪問は、日本と沖縄における空手文化のさらなる連携強化に寄与するものとして期待されています。
また、アゲシオジャパンは、沖縄空手と日本本土の空手をつなぐ「架け橋」としての役割を担い、両者の交流と相互理解を促進する綱渡し役を務めています。

5th Challenging Person Karate Program – A Day Full of Passion and Smiles!

【第5回 チャレンジング・パーソン空手大会 開催！】

On July 6, 2025 (Sunday), the 5th Challenging Person Karate Program was held at the Okinawa Karate Kaikan!

This special event is dedicated to individuals with intellectual disabilities, and this year saw the largest number of participants ever — about 20 more than last year!
The venue was filled with energy, excitement, and heartfelt applause, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and unity.

We were honored to welcome distinguished guests, including Okinawa Governor Denny Tamaki and Chairman Arakaki of the Okinawa Traditional Karate Promotion Association, who added to the event’s significance and support.

Ageshio Japan has proudly supported this event as the main sponsor for five consecutive years. We truly believe in the value of inclusion and will continue working with everyone involved to grow this wonderful program even further.

To all the participants — congratulations and thank you for your incredible effort and spirit!

2025年7月6日（日）、沖縄県空手会館にて「第5回 チャレンジング・パーソン空手大会」が開催されました！

この大会は、知的障がいを持つ方々が主役となる空手イベントで、今回は過去最多の参加者数となり、昨年よりも約20名増加✨
会場は選手の熱気と笑顔、そして応援の拍手でいっぱいになり、感動と活気に満ちあふれていました！

また、来賓として沖縄県知事の玉城デニー氏をはじめ、沖縄伝統空手道振興会の新垣理事長など多くの皆様にご臨席いただき、大会を盛り上げていただきました。

アゲシオジャパンは、この大会の趣旨に共感し、第1回目から5年間連続でスポンサーとして全面的にサポートしております。
これからも、障がいの有無を越えて誰もが輝ける舞台として、より大きな大会に育てていけるよう、みんなで力を合わせて取り組んでいきたいと思います。

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Shubukan Karate Dojo, located near Shuri Castle, a commemorative demonstration event and open seminar will be held this year.

There will also be optional activities such as participating in the mass demonstration for “Karate Day” and joining the Shurijo Festival—a vibrant cultural event—offering a unique opportunity to enjoy not only martial arts but also Okinawan culture.

The program is open to everyone, so please feel free to contact us for more information!
