------ What is Noh? ------
Noh is a Japanese traditional performing art born in the 14th century. Since then, Noh has been performed continuously until today. It is Japan’s oldest form of theatrical performance still in existence. The word “Noh” is derived from the Japanese word for “skill” or “talent”.The use of Noh masks convey human emotions and historical heroes and heroines. Noh plays typically last from 2-3 hours and an excerpt from these performances will be one display at Odawara Castle. Noh characters are traditionally played by men, even the female roles. Noh is described as simple and sophisticated with its set of musical instruments, chorus, stage equipment and production. Zeami, Noh's genius, developed numerous artistic theories such as "Fūshikaden," which is also known as "The Flowering Spirit". These are read across the world today and their influence on this century's entertainment is still strong.

"The birthplace of Shonan・Oiso town (Kanagawa)"
http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EXac7s3lwjwcw8sg8oow

I took a walk through around station of the Oiso town of scenic beauty which was said to be "The birthplace of Shonan" this time.
JR Tokaido Line, Oiso Station that the walk started from is a station chosen as 100 selections of Kanto stations (100 unusual railroad stations of the Kanto district chosen as part of a commemorative event on "the day of the railroad" of Japan) in 2000, and the station building of the triangle roof is a station letting a country color feel. As there is a tourist information center at 100 selections of Kanto station squares, I have a walk map and leave it.
Firstly I aimed at the great writer of the Showa, Toson Shimazaki's house leaving many masterpieces including the "Yoake-mae (Before the Dawn) ", "Hakai (The Broken Commandment)" I left Oiso Station and went ahead through the path along the track towards the west.

”Walk around Kameido (Tokyo)”

http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EX5jixkfu996048c4k4w

I took a walk through a downtown area of Tokyo, around Kameido this time. This ground was a marine island called Kamenosima, and a spring called "Kamegaido"(ido=well) which there was in the village called Kamemura of the island becomes famous, and it is said that this ground came to be called "Kameido" all too soon in the Edo era in old days.
At first, I went to Katori Shrine with the monument of the origin of Kamegaido of this place name. I go ahead through the station square mall from the JR Sobu Line Kameido Station north exit, and there is a torii of Katori Shrine when I turn left at Kuramaebashi-dori St. I turn right at there, and there is Katori Shrine when I pass through the Katori Daimon Kachiun mall. When Prince Kamatari Fujiwara went to the eastern country for 665 years, he puts a ship to this Kamenoshima, and prayed for the coming of Katosi taijin, dedicated sword one, and it is the origin of the foundation of the Katori shrine of Kameido that he prayed for the peace and security of the trip. It was in the middle of the Heian era (around 930),

For the early spring, I visited Atami city that was famous in a hot spring this time. I change to Izu Kyuko Line at JR Atami Station and get off at "Kinomiya Station" of the next station. I walked for around five minutes and visited "Kinomiya Shrine". As it was a big tree and rock, the naturally comfortable ground including the waterfall, in the ancient times, a Shinto shrine is completed from the nature worship, and it is Kinomiya Shrine that it was in a place of the faith of the people of Atami neighboring villages. Therefore, it is said "Kinomiya" (shrine of the tree) until the Edo era, and is a shrine to worship gods dwelling in "a tree".

It is about 15 minutes on foot to Enoshima and arrived in bronze Otorii of the Enoshima entrance through Bentembashi. Through Benzaiten nakamise dori lined with a souvenir shop and restaurants from here to Enoshima Shrine. "Enoshima Jinja shrine" is the Shinto shrine consisting of three of "Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, Okutsumiya", and one of Japan's three biggest Benzaiten "n**e Benzaiten, Myon Benzaiten" is enshrined in the temple. In addition, it is known as a power spot of matchmaking, and there is "a tree of Musubi". I went and worshiped here and went to Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden with fine-view lighthouse "Sea Candle". As it is such a long stone stairway for 20 minutes when I walk, as for the person that it is hard to walk, what use "Enoshima eskar" of the outdoors escalator (pay) is good.

"Walk around Yanaka, Nezu (Tokyo)"
http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EXbr5th4zlorsosocsoo

I took a walk through a downtown area of Tokyo, around Yanaka, Nezu this time. Around Yanaka, there is a metropolitan cemetery of about 100,000 square meters in area called Yanaka Cemetery, and many celebrities including last general of the Tokugawa era, Yoshinobu Tokugawa, great actor, Kazuo Hasegawa of the Showa, businessman, Eiichi Shibusawa drawn on the new ten-thousand yen bill and great master, Taikan Yokoyama of the Japanese painting are at rest there. Therefore, here becomes Teramachi with many temples in the outskirts. At the time when I just came, an event called "Yanaka Shichifukujin-meguri" (a tour of the Seven Deities of Good Fortune) was carried out, and most of the people who got off a train at JR Nippori Station walked the map to one hand. When I go out the station west exit and go the slope along the track to the left, there is a temple called "Tennoji" immediately.

Saw a weather forecast to become high in temperature today, took a walk through Kamakura after a long absence. I visited the temple which was one of Kamakura Gozan called Jomyo-ji Temple and two neighboring temples to arrive at from Kamakura Station by bus to the Asahina area for approximately 15 minutes this time.
At first, I went to "Hokoku-ji Temple" in the place like a 5-minute walk from the Jomyo-ji Temple bus stop. Hokoku-ji Temple was a Zen Buddhism temple of the Rinzai sect, Kencho-ji Temple group founded in 1334, and Ietoki Ashikaga who was a grandfather of Takauji Ashikaga who founded the Muromachi Shogunate did the open basis.

"Walk of Meiji Jingu and the outskirts"

http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EX60n4omc4wskksgk0oc

I visited "Meiji Jingu" which was famous because most worshipers come for a New Year's visit to a Shinto shrine in Japan this time.
I went out JR "Harajuku Station" Omotesando Exit wicket and saw Otorii of Meiji Jingu on the right side as soon as I turned right. I went ahead through the long south approach to a shrine from here. The trees around the approach to a shrine were deep and felt that it was a holy place. Meiji Jingu Museum is on the right side when I go ahead about 200m. The Museum is opened to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of Meiji Jingu. And the Museum keeps the treasure of the Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken connection in a good state for a long time and was opened as information dispatch facilities to have a worshiper understand Meiji Shrine more deeply. Furthermore, the approach to a shrine continues more when I go ahead through the approach to a shrine and turn left at the place that a barrel of the Western liquor dedicates it to the left side a barrel of the national sake on the right side, and is displayed and pass through second Otorii. As "the Meiji Jingu Gyoen (Imperial Gardens)" was on the left side in the middle of this approach to a shrine, I observed it.

"Visit of Imperial Palace, Daijokyu (Tokyo)"

http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EXcstabrkmmlcksk08gc

"Daijokyu-no-gi" ("Yukiden-Kyosen-no-gi" was performed from the evening of November 14 to the night, and "Sukiden-Kyosen-no-gi" was performed before dawn of 15th, the following day)is the Central ceremony of Daijosai, the ceremony after the enthronement, in which the Emperor offers newly-harvested rice to the Imperial Ancestor and to the deities of heaven and earth, and partakes of it himself, giving thanksand praying for peace and abundant harvests for the country and the people. As "Daijokyu Halls" which was a building built for "Daijokyu-no-gi" was available to the public during the period until from November 21 to December 8, I observed it.
As it is earlier next time for several years, or it is not revealed that I do not see "Daijokyu Halls" at this opportunity because it is broken after general visit, it is prosperous in the people of the visit very much day after day. I thought whether weekdays were vacant to some extent first of all and went out on Tuesday, December 3.

"Walk of autumn Shinjuku Gyoen and Jingugaien (Tokyo)"

http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EX2x4qy8x3290kkskk84

As it was a season to hear the news of autumn colored leaves, I visited Shinjuku Gyoen which was just a place much-talked-about in "cherry blossom party". I entered Shinjuku Gyoen from the Shinjuku Gyoen "Shinjuku gate" in around ten minutes on foot from the JR Shinjuku Station southeast Exit. Shinjuku Gyoen is 58.3ha in area, a very large garden of neighborhood 3.5km and has three places of entrances. At the place where this neighborhood was called "Naito Shinjuku" in the Edo era, and there was a daimyo's mansion in Edo of the Shinshu lofty feudal lord Naitos that was a vassal of Ieyasu Tokugawa. When the Meiji era began, it became the agricultural experimental station here, and it was in a garden of the Imperial Family in 1906 and, in postwar period, was opened to the public as the nation park in 1949. It had 70th anniversary of the opening this year.

"A walk through Koedo, Sawara of Hokuso (Chiba)"

http://www.japanions.com/experienceDetail.php?experienceID=EX1mgcfh2f4d28go4wcw

Cityscape and Katori-jingu Shrine of Sawara are popular with Katori-shi located the north of Boso Peninsula as a tourist attraction. I took a walk through Sahara which was said to be Koedo of Hokuso this time.
You should walk leisurely to enjoy cityscape of Sawara while looking at old Machiya to be dotted with along Ono river. I get a sightseeing map in the JR Sahara station square information desk of the start and aim at the center of the Ono riverside, the Cyukei Bridge. As I arrive from the station in around ten minutes, I go north first in Ono riverside in the starting point here. Ono river is a river of less than 10m in width, and the tree of willow is planted on both sides of the river and makes scenery with the emotion. The riverside way is a street comfortable to walk in by width as one car can go. There is a building of "old Abuso-shouten" as soon as I go ahead through the way.
