Six months from today our first Haru Yasumi crew of the 2027 will be checking in!🥳

🎬 FLASHBACK exactly 2 years and 6 months ago to our pre-gopro-crude-phone-footage days, and these lovely legends were checking in on what would be a very unique "one hit wonder" tour, in which we ran out epic spring Haru Yasumi Tour itinerary in the middle of the powder season!❄️

It's that time of year again, the mighty Otaru Ushio Matsuri👺

5000 fireworks, 7000 dancers and over one million visitors, this truly is a must see for both locals and summer visitors to Otaru.

We love this event for so many reasons... the local vibe, the colour, the food, the atmosphere. But it also marks the middle of the summer... which means that we are closer to the ski season!😜

But this year was extra special for us as it was little Haruki's first time! He was given lots of gifts AND he was lucky enough to be bitten on the head by a Shi-shi dragon!👹

A fantastic time in Otaru, with many local and large festivals!

This one, the Ryugu Shrine festival was a little bit special this summer. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the shrine's founding, they held the first "sea procession" since the end of World War II.

"We pray that the divine blessings of Ryugu Shrine, the god of the sea, will spread from Otaru to all of Hokkaido, and that Otaru will prosper, that voyages will be safe, that catches of fish will be abundant, and that everyone will be happy." - Ryugu Shrine 🙇
