♥Jufuku-ji "The Inverted Autumn Leaves"

Must-see in the season of autumn leaves.
In autumn, the colorful "Inverted Autumn Leaves" hall will be open to the public for a limited time only. During this period, they remove some tatami mats from the hall of the temple, and set the acrylic board to reflect the inverted images of the autumn leaves in the garden.

♥Umegae Sake Brewery Open Warehouse Spring & Autumn

Let's enjoy the fine taste of locally brewed sake!
The annual event of open warehouse! In autumn, you can make a study tour of the sweet potato shochu factory along with free shochu tasting. In February, you can enjoy free tasting of newly blended sake when you make a tour of sake factory. There will be a lot of interesting events such as opening cask sake which is very popular yet avalable only on that day.

♥Emukae Sentourou(Thousand Lantern) Festival

The lanterns lit all through the town invite us into a fantastic world.
The highlight of this festival, which is held on 23rd and 24th of August every year, is the tower of approx. 25 meters high decorated with about 3,300 lanterns. When evening comes, close to 10,000 lanterns are lit throughout the town turning it into a world of fantastic illuminations.

♥Mizukake Jizo Festival

A Summer tradition of Emukae
"Emukae Sentourou festival", which is held on 23rd and 24th of August every year, also features "Mizukake Jizo Matsuri". Children walk towards the river carrying Mikoshi, the portable shrine with a wooden statue of Jizo on it. When they get to the river, they splash fresh water over the "Ojizo-sama". And then people on the street splash water over the children with a ladle as they parade around the town, praying for their good health.

♥Saikai Bridge Whirlpool Festival(Spring & Fall)

A great contrast of whirlpools and cherry blossoms!!
Over looking Hario Strait—the gateway of Omura Bay, Saikai Bridge Park has cherry blossoms such as Somei-Yoshino and Oshimazakura, which will be in full bloom in spring time. The strait is said to be one of the three greatest rapid tides of Japanese waters, and has many whirlpools in it. When about one thousand cherry trees are in full bloom, you can enjoy the splendid contrast with the swirling tides.

♥Hizen Emukae Mayudama Festival

The colorful Mayutama(New Year's decoration with cocoon-shaped cakes) decorate the spring in Emukae.

Traditionai spring event that many willows and bamboos decorated with a lot of pretty mayutama will be displayed along the Emukae shopping street. During the festival, you can experience making Japanese Soba noodles, or eating icefish alive, etc. Making mayutama which is easy for everyone is also nice. There are restaurants and rest area along the shopping street, so you can enjoy strolling Emukae town all day.
