Looking to visit, move, or work in Japan? What is life like here? How can you learn Japanese? If these are questions you've been wondering, look no further! I'm here to help. My name is Jasmine and I've been living in Japan for 10+ years. Through my guides, website, videos, and one-on-ones, I help people acclimate to their new environments outside of their home country (and primarily to Japan). It

Choose a random station in a random neighborhood and walk 2-3 blocks over. This is always how I find the best restaurants, experiences, and friends in Japan.

If you like this, I’m sharing all my life in Japan tips in a Japan Compendium. Waitlist in bio.

Best advice I ever got was to never take advice from people who don’t have what you want, or who haven’t been where you want to go.

Yes, Japanese ability is needed for living in Japan. But you don’t have to be fluent. Here’s what I could do at a N3 level.

Building a stable career in Japan is rarely about depending on one company — it’s about understanding how the system of life here, actually works.

In this street interview video, I asked random Japan residents the same questions about work and career stability. Many of them are already putting in effort — teaching, freelancing, or working side jobs — yet still feel stuck or uncertain about the long term. Their answers reveal patterns that rarely get explained, especially for people trying to build a sustainable life in Japan rather than just get by.

This isn’t career advice or a how-to guide.
It’s context — the kind that usually only becomes clear after years of living here.
