今日は、信州屋2階「かんら書斎」で、ボードゲーム交流会を開催しました！

数名のキャンセルもあり、今回は5人での開催となりましたが、少人数ならではの距離の近さもあり、約10種類のボードゲームをみんなでたっぷり楽しみました😊

今回は、親子でのご参加をはじめ、ALTの先生や図書館司書さんなど、いろいろな方が参加してくださいました。

年齢や普段の立場もそれぞれですが、同じテーブルを囲んで一緒に楽しめるのが、ボードゲームの面白いところですね🎲

🎲 Play, talk, and connect.
Today, we held our Board Game Meetup at Kanra Shosai on the second floor of Shinshuya!
After a few cancellations, we had five participants this time. With a smaller group, everyone could interact closely, and we enjoyed around 10 different board games together 😊
We were happy to welcome a variety of participants, including a parent and child, an ALT, and a librarian.
Everyone was of different ages and backgrounds, but that’s one of the great things about board games — once you gather around the same table, everyone can enjoy playing together 🎲
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
We’re planning to make this a monthly event, and we’ll announce the date of our next meetup soon 📢
We hope to see you around the table at Kanra Shosai next time 🌿

🎲 いよいよ明日！ボードゲーム交流会

明日9月20日（日）、信州屋2階「かんら書斎」で、ボードゲーム交流会を開催します！

みんなで楽しめるボードゲームを中心に、10種類ほどご用意しています🎲
ボードゲームに詳しくなくても大丈夫。 はじめましての方も、おひとりでの参加も大歓迎です😊

ゲームを囲んで、遊んで、話して。 普段なかなか出会わない人とも、ゆるくつながれる時間になればと思っています。

当日の飛び込み参加もOK！🙌

Tomorrow, September 20, we’re holding a board game meetup upstairs at Shinshuya!
We’ll have around 10 different games that everyone can enjoy 🎲
No board game experience needed, and first-timers and solo participants are very welcome 😊
Play some games, have a chat, and meet someone new.
We hope it will be a relaxed morning where people can connect through games.

久しぶりに青空が戻ってきた甘楽町。

雨の日が続いていたぶん、

Blue skies have finally returned to Kanra after what feels like a long time.
Sunlight is streaming into Shinshuya again, making the familiar café look just a little different.

🏠 今も残る、もうひとつの階段。

信州屋のレジ横にある、こちらの階段。
これは、改修前まで実際に使われていた階段です！

改修の際、建設当時は別の場所に階段があったことが分かり、現在はその場所に新しい階段が設けられています。
そのため、この階段はもう使われていませんが、
信州屋が歩んできた時間のひとつとして、今もそのまま残されています😌

毎日レジに立っていると、すぐ隣にあるので見慣れてしまう景色ですが、改めて見ると、こうして昔の姿が残っているのも古い建物ならでは。

ご来店の際には、レジの横をちょっと見上げてみてください😊

🏠 Another staircase, still standing.
Next to the counter at Shinshuya, you’ll find this old staircase.
It was actually used until the building was renovated.
During the renovation, historical research revealed that the original staircase had once been located elsewhere in the building, so a new staircase was built in that original location.
This staircase is no longer in use, but it has been preserved as part of the history Shinshuya has lived through over the years.
Standing at the counter every day, it’s easy for us to get used to seeing it. But when we stop and look again, having traces of the building’s past still around us feels like something special about an old house like Shinshuya.
Next time you visit, take a little look up beside the counter 😊

🌿 A different kind of place when people come together.
This is Kanra Shosai, located on the second floor of Shinshuya.
Usually, it’s a place where people can work, study, read, or simply spend some time at their own pace.
But sometimes, people gather around the big tables to talk, meet others, and enjoy something together.
On event days, the space takes on a whole different atmosphere 😊
And this weekend, on Sunday, September 20, we’ll be holding our Board Game Gathering here at Kanra Shosai 🎲
People of all generations are welcome to come and enjoy playing games together!
Then, the following weekend, on Saturday, September 26, we’ll have our Rice Harvest Gathering 🌾
Registration for the rice harvest closes this Friday, September 18.
Autumn is bringing plenty of opportunities to meet people and enjoy new experiences together.

☕ 定休日の今日は、甘楽富岡の紹介！

信州屋は本日、月曜日の定休日でした。

今日は、富岡製糸場のすぐ近くにある「CAFE DROME（カフェ・ドローム）」さんをご紹介します🌿
CAFE DROME｜カフェドローム

明治時代に、富岡製糸場の関係者が利用していた宿舎を改装したカフェ。
築150年の建物には昔の梁や土壁が残り、アンティークの家具などが並ぶ店内は、日本の古屋とフランスヴィンテージが合わさった、どこか特別な空間です。

富岡製糸場にまつわる昔の写真も飾られていて、建物の歴史を感じながら、ゆっくりと過ごすことができます☕️

そして、一番人気の「プリンそこがみそ」もおすすめ🍮
底には味噌を使った甘じょっぱいカラメルソースが入っていて、プリンとの相性も◎

信州屋でも轟味噌を使ったアイス最中をお出ししているので、味噌を使ったスイーツという共通点があるのも、ちょっと嬉しいところ😊

甘楽町から少し足をのばして富岡へ。
富岡製糸場やまち歩きとあわせて、立ち寄ってみてはいかがでしょうか🌿

☕ On our day off, a little trip to Tomioka.
Shinshuya is closed on Mondays, so today we’d like to introduce CAFE DROME, located just a short walk from the Tomioka Silk Mill 🌿
The café is housed in a 150-year-old building that was once used as accommodation by people connected to the Tomioka Silk Mill during the Meiji era.
With its original wooden beams and earthen walls, antique furniture, and unique blend of traditional Japanese architecture and French vintage style, the café has a very special atmosphere.
Old photographs related to the Tomioka Silk Mill are also displayed inside, making it a wonderful place to relax with a cup of coffee while experiencing a little of the building’s history ☕️
Their most popular dessert, “Purin Soko ga Miso,” is also worth trying 🍮
At the bottom of the pudding is a sweet-and-savory miso caramel sauce that goes surprisingly well with the creamy pudding.
At Shinshuya, we also serve an ice cream monaka made with local Todoroki Miso, so it’s nice to find another café nearby using miso in its sweets 😊

先月から販売を始めた、轟味噌の「アイス最中」セット。

9月に入ってから、ドリンクもフードも合わせて、いちばん多くご注文いただいているメニューです✨

地元・甘楽町でつくられる「轟味噌」を使った味噌アイスを、香ばしい最中に挟んで。
味噌の風味とアイスの甘さが合わさった、甘じょっぱい味わいが楽しめます。

先月仲間入りしたばかりのメニューが、こうして選んでいただけるのは嬉しいものです😊

🍨 A September Favorite
Our Todoroki Miso Ice Cream Monaka Set joined the Shinshuya menu just last month.
Since the beginning of September, it has become our most-ordered item — across both food and drinks 😊
The ice cream is made with Todoroki Miso, a locally produced miso from Kanra, and served in a crisp monaka wafer.
The sweetness of the ice cream and the savory flavor of the miso come together for a delicious sweet-and-salty taste.
It makes us very happy to see a new addition to our menu already being enjoyed by so many of you 😊
We hope it will continue to be enjoyed as one of Shinshuya’s regular favorites.

今ではあまり見かけなくなりましたが、かつて商店などの店先を彩った広告看板のひとつです！

今の広告とはまったく違うけれど、
思わず目を留めてしまう力は、今も変わりませんね😌

On one of Shinshuya’s wooden pillars, you’ll find this old enamel sign for Kao Soap.
Signs like this were once a familiar form of advertising, displayed at shops and storefronts across Japan.
Advertising looks very different today, but the power to make us stop and take a closer look hasn’t changed.
