The cherry blossoms are blooming! But did you know that plum blossoms are as beautiful, and can be seen in February?
Every year, the Odawara Plum Festival offers a beautiful landscape with 35,000 trees covered in blooming flowers. It is a great alternative to enjoy blossoming trees while avoiding the crowds coming for cherry blossoms.

This year’s shinnenkai (New Year gathering) was held in Gajoen’s beautiful Japanese room!
Every year we can see Eighty Days’ growth as the room for shinnenkai keeps getting bigger and bigger.
While growing, we have also become more diverse with almost 30 different nationalities within the company.

This week was the last day of the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival 2025.
Less popular than the Sapporo Snow Festival, it is equally splendid. Besides the unbelievably tall walls and beautiful view of Shikotsu Lake, the event also featured a Shinto shrine and an ice cafe where hot drinks were served along with marshmallows to grill on a wood fire.

The Sapporo Snow Festival is the event not to miss at the beginning of February.
Several of our customers got the chance to enjoy this snowy part of Japan and discover Hokkaido’s famous local food.
If you would like to see these snow sculptures, do not hesitate to reach out to us for next year’s edition.

The year started with several familiarisation trips from Asuka to Nakasendo, for us to deepen our knowledge of familiar regions with more special experiences.
2025 is expected to be filled with discoveries, so watch out for our upcoming exclusive experiences!

Taiko team building!
Last month, some of our newest joiners enjoyed a team-building activity with traditional Japanese drums called taiko.

We have been working closely with our taiko partner for several years now and we are happy to provide private classes for individuals and groups of up to 100 participants.

Today in Kiyomizu Temple!
Autumn is the second most popular season in Japan for a good reason. The stunning autumn foliage can still be enjoyed in Kyoto in early December, and our in-house guides are sharing with us the beautiful landscapes our customers are currently witnessing.

TS Japan Rail is proud to have worked with Eighty Days Inc. and the LOCOMOTIVE CLUB of GREAT BRITAIN with the planning, arranging and supporting of their Japan Tour (August 2023).

The two week tour included riding on 5 steam locomotive hauled trains, visiting 3 tram systems and 4 railway / tram museums with travel in Kanto, Kansai, Hiroshima and Kyushu.
Special thanks also to 広島電鉄（Hiroshima Electric Railway） and 大井川鐵道株式会社.
