【ウユニ塩湖：星と稲妻の絶景-Starry view of Salar de Uyuni】
ウユニ塩湖で星空の撮影を始めると、東の山脈の入道雲が光り始めました。雷鳴の音も聞こえないほどに遠いのですが、空は不気味に明滅しています。山の向こう、アマゾンではきっと大雨が降っていたのでしょう。真っ暗な塩湖で、点滅する稲妻が照らす風景は、黙示録ともいえる不気味でいて美しい風景でした。

As I began photographing the starlit sky at Salar de Uyuni, the incoming clouds in the mountain range to the east began to glow. The sky was eerily flickering, although it was so far away that I could not hear the sound of thunder. Beyond the mountains, in the Amazon, it must have been raining heavily. The scenery of the completely dark salt lake, illuminated by the flashing lightning, was eerie and beautiful, almost like the apocalypse.

Cuando empecé a fotografiar el cielo estrellado del Salar de Uyuni, las nubes que se acercaban por la cordillera del este empezaron a brillar. El cielo titilaba inquietantemente, aunque estaba tan lejos que no podía oír el sonido de los truenos. Más allá de las montañas, en el Amazonas, debía de estar lloviendo a cántaros. El paisaje del lago salado, completamente oscuro, iluminado por los destellos de los relámpagos, era espeluznante y hermoso, casi como el apocalipsis.
