Today’s Ikebana Experience 🌿
We welcomed a flower lover from Wisconsin, USA 🇺🇸 to experience the beauty and tradition of Japanese Ikebana.
A wonderful coincidence happened on her flight from Chicago to Japan—she met a flight attendant who studies Ikebana in Chicago, and they ended up talking about her upcoming Ikebana experience in Yanaka. ✨
She created a beautiful autumn arrangement with delicate yellow flowers and waremokō, and was delighted with her finished piece.
She’ll continue learning Ikebana in Chicago after returning home. We’re grateful to have been a small part of her journey. 🌼

Our guest began her Ikebana experience by visiting a local flower shop and choosing her own flowers.

With her carefully selected flowers in hand, she returned to our traditional Japanese studio and began the lesson.

Learning how to arrange each flower, considering its shape, height and movement, she created her very own Ikebana arrangement. 🌿

Today’s “Drop-in Calligraphy” Experience

Today, we welcomed a family of three from Israel for our Drop-in Calligraphy Experience. 🇮🇱🇯🇵

The boys had fun writing and speaking Japanese words they had learned from anime. 😊
Their mother chose to focus on practicing just one word: “Zen” (禅).

In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, they each created their own beautiful calligraphy piece. 🖌️

They are staying near Yanaka Ginza, so it was lovely to have them stop by while exploring the neighborhood.

🌿 Today’s Ikebana Experience

A flower-loving guest from 🇨🇦 Canada joined us for an Ikebana experience.

She chose beautiful gentians and calla lilies and created a lovely arrangement. 💐

She loved it so much that she decided to take the flowers with her to enjoy during the last two days of her stay in Japan. ❤️

Today’s Wagashi Experience 🍵✨

A lovely couple from Malaysia joined us during their honeymoon in Japan. 💕

They beautifully made Doraemon & Hello Kitty nerikiri, as well as Kyoho grape daifuku they had requested in advance. 🍇

The mochi was hot, and there were a few screams along the way! 😂 But they had so much fun making everything together.

They especially enjoyed experiencing Japanese culture in the peaceful streets of Yanaka. 🌿

From Vienna to Yanaka, Tokyo!

Today we welcomed two wonderful guests from Vienna for a Japanese cooking experience. ❤️

Together, they learned how to make udon and tempura — two classic Japanese favorites.

It was a hot day in Tokyo, especially with the deep-frying and warm udon! 🥵🍤🍜
But we had so much fun cooking, laughing and enjoying the meal together.

And their Japan journey is just beginning!

Today, we welcomed a lovely mother and daughter from Florida, USA 🇺🇸 to our Japanese cooking experience.

The daughter loves cooking, and she made beautiful sushi with great care! 🍣✨

Since they also love Japanese mochi, we made shiratama together and topped it with seasonal zunda (sweet edamame paste). It was a perfect summer treat! 💚

Before leaving, they told us they’d love to come back next time with their other daughter.💕

We can’t wait to welcome your family again! Thank you for joining us. ❤️

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family of four from Switzerland 🇨🇭 to our Japanese cooking class!

Together, we made sushi, miso soup, and Shiratama (Japanese rice flour dumplings).

When they saw the sushi plates they had created themselves, they smiled and said, “Very beautiful!” 💕

I mentioned that sushi molds for nigiri are available in Japan, but they confidently replied, “It’s okay! We learned it properly today!” 😊 It was great to see how confident they felt after the lesson.

Their 16-year-old daughter especially loves Japanese mochi and said she would happily eat it every day while in Japan! She also plans to buy some Shiratama flour before heading home so she can make it herself in Switzerland.

Thank you for joining us—we hope to see you again someday! ❤️
