Me and my guest stayed here for a night and the onsen water is so wonderful
The skin really goes sooo smooth
A fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on June 9 at Arima Inari Shrine in Kobe’s Kita Ward, near the popular Arima Onsen hot spring area. The fire originated in the residence of the shrine’s chief priest and spread to other buildings.

Three structures, including the priest’s home and the shrine office, were completely destroyed. The elderly chief priest and his wife, both in their 80s, suffered minor injuries. Firefighters faced challenges due to the shrine’s location, which requires climbing approximately 200 steps.

The fire was brought under control after about five hours. Some nearby hotel guests were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Police and fire officials are investigating the cause.

June 2 – A Day in Mount Fuji with Friends 🗻

That morning when the 5am alarm went off, I really wanted to hit snooze. But I gritted my teeth and got up. My friends and I booked a private car in advance to head to Mount Fuji – no transfers, which saved us a lot of hassle.

The weather was incredibly lucky – Mount Fuji was completely unobstructed, standing right in front of us crystal clear. We watched it slowly put on its "hat," and it felt amazing.

We went to Lake Motosu in the morning, but then we couldn't even tell which direction Mount Fuji was in 😂 I made the itinerary myself, and the best part was catching such good weather. Many people asked me where I took those photos – it's by the lakeside in front of the New Century Hotel in Fuji Kawaguchiko. The shots turned out really beautiful.

The driver we met was super nice, warm and thoughtful. Around 4pm we took the car straight to Oishi Park – it was unbelievably beautiful. Fields of flowers, rice paddies, and Mount Fuji sitting there quietly. I've added a few new photos, all taken on Julne 022026– hope they can help those who want to go.

Splitting the private car among a few friends turned out to be very cost-effective. No crowded trains, and when we got tired we could just nap in the car. It was a tiring day, but totally worth it.

“If you want to see the Kyoto you picture in your mind — old wooden houses, stone streets, soft evening light, and a traditional Japanese atmosphere — I think Gion is an area you should walk through at least once.”

Gion is one of Kyoto’s historic districts and still preserves its traditional Japanese charm very well. Walking here feels like stepping into an old town, with wooden machiya houses, tea houses, narrow alleys, stone-paved streets, and beautiful photo spots almost everywhere. It is especially lovely in the morning or late afternoon, when the light is soft, the crowds are lighter, and the atmosphere feels especially gentle and charming.

This area is close to Yasaka Shrine, Hanamikoji Street, Shirakawa, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and you can even continue walking toward Kiyomizu-dera. If you enjoy photography, strolling, or simply want to experience the classic side of Kyoto, I think Gion is a perfect choice.

Getting here is also convenient. I recommend coming by train rather than renting a car, because the streets are narrow and parking can be difficult. You can get off at Gion-Shijo Station or Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station and start exploring from there.

Personally, I really love this area because it is not just beautiful — when you walk here, you can truly feel the charm of Kyoto. If you are visiting Kyoto and want to experience a full old-Japan atmosphere, I highly recommend setting aside some time to walk around Gion at least once.

🇯🇵 Kobe Hidden Garden|Herb Gardens feels like a European summer escape 💜🌿

Perched on the hills of Kobe, Nunobiki Herb Gardens is 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙆𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙞’𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙝𝙞𝙙𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙨✨From the Kitano Ijinkan area, it’s an easy walk to the ropeway station, where the cable car slowly climbs up the mountain. Along the way, you get sweeping views of Kobe city and the harbor—absolutely breathtaking🤍

The breeze makes the whole scene feel incredibly calming and almost surreal💜Beyond lavender, the garden also features a wide variety of herbs, European-style gardens, and greenhouse areas, creating a strong “countryside Europe” atmosphere in the middle of Japan✨

If you’re planning to visit Nunobiki Falls as well, a one-way ropeway ticket is usually the better choice You can go up by cable car, then slowly walk down while exploring the gardens and forest trails. The waterfall route doesn’t fully align with the ropeway exit, so a round-trip ticket may still require extra walking—but that’s also what makes the journey more scenic and rewarding🍃

So much inspired
He lit a single lantern and opened the onsen doors as dawn fog curled over the Akaishi foothills. The inn had survived emperors, earthquakes, samurai rule, and modernity but what happened next kept it running. For 52 generations the same family handed down the keys, quietly adapting while preserving ritual. It shows how one business can carry a nation's traditions forward.
