-Unique Posture: Gerenuks are known for standing on their hind legs to reach leaves on tall bushes and trees, a behavior few other antelopes exhibit.

-Long Neck: Their name "gerenuk" comes from the Somali word garanuug, meaning "giraffe-necked," referring to their elongated neck.

-Diet: They are browsers that can survive without drinking water for long periods, obtaining moisture from leaves and plants.

-Distinctive Features: Gerenuks have large eyes and ears, giving them a graceful appearance and excellent senses for detecting predators.

-Social Behavior: They are typically solitary or found in small groups of females, while males tend to be territorial.
