Meet the Reticulated giraffe.
*Easily recognized by: Large, sharp-edged brown patches separated by bright white lines (a “net-like” pattern)
*Height: Up to about 5.5–6 meters (males are taller than females)
*Weight: Around 800–1,200 kg for adult males
*Diet: Leaves, especially acacia trees
*Tongue: About 45–50 cm long, dark-colored to avoid sunburn
*Lifespan: Around 20–25 years in the wild
*Speed: Can run up to 60 km/h for short distances
*Heart: Very powerful—helps pump blood up the long neck to the brain
*Social behavior: Live in loose groups; group members change often
*Communication: Mostly silent, but they hum and use body language
