11 days lake Turkana safari

Day 1: Nairobi National park
Meet and greet at the airport.Abrief introduction from our tour guide and safari driver about the safari route.
Drive to the hotel for check in & breakfast.freshen up and at around 9.30 am head to the park.
Nairobi National park was established in 1946 and it covers 1171km2,its about 7 kms south of Nairobi city.it is fenced all around but opened at the southern boundary to allow immigrating wildlife.
The park has about 500 bird species.it is also a home of over 100 mammal species having four of the big five (lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino) and other animals too.it is the major rhino sanctuary for breeding and restocking other parks
Packed lunch will be served at the park since it's a full day game drive.
Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay
Day 2 : LAKE BARINGO/BOGORIA
Lake Baringo aringo is in the great rift valley region,north of the equator and about 285km from Nairobi.Lake Baringo is the most northern lake after lake Turkana and it's also one of the three fresh water lakes in rift valley
Activities: _ Boat excursion will get you closer to a colony of hippos.
_Bird watching
_ Feeding of the African fish eagle

Lake BOGORIA is a shallow salty/alkaline lake set about 20 kms from Baringo
Activities: _ The main attraction is hot springs that form steam geyser jets from ground
Huge concentration of flamingoes and water bird species.

Day 3: Baringo / Maralal
After breakfast ,drive towards maralal town which is around 197kms . Checkin at Samburu guest house . On the way to meet the Pokot people and learn their culture and way of life.
Late lunch at maralal. Later in the evening walk around the beautiful town of Maralal,Mingle with the locals . Back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight .
Day 4. Maralal/suguta valley
Early breakfast ,driver towards suguta valley observation point and later descent to the bottom of the valley where

Tobong Lore is back again . Turkana cultural event to be held on 12th - 14th oct 2023 . Grab ypur ticket and lets do this






Day 1.
Take early morning flight to Lodwar via Eldoret with skyward express . Checkin at Acacia Homes for overnight stay . Freshen up , take breakfast and later attend the Turkana Cultural event duped Tobong Lore ( come back home ). The event is celebrated to serve as initiative by community to celebrate culture , appreciate diversity and bring back peace . As you all know , Turkana is also arguably considered as the cradle of all cultures. The festival is away of connecting people of the world with their heritage , roots hence the title ,'welcome back home '.
Later back to the hotel for late lunch and rest . Evening take a walk along Lodwar town , visit the resurrected Christ monument . Watch the sunset from the monument and later back to the hotel for dinner .
Day 2.
Early morning breakfast , attend the event again to understand more about the colorful event . The event will attract the the Ateker community which include the Karamojong of Uganda , Toposa of South Sudan and dassanites of Ethiopia .
Back to the hotel for lunch . Later in the evening , drive towards Lake Turkana -Eliye springs . Checkin at Kristine camp for night stay . Go for swimming and sundowner- back to the camp for dinner .
Day 3.
Take early breakfast , take aboat to central island . Visit crocodile , flamingo and tilapia crater . Take packed lunch . You can also do fishing . At around 3pm back to the camp . Take rest or you can do village visit to meet with the locals .
Day 4.
Prepare for trip to the cradle of mankind . It takes 3 to 4 hours drive from Eliye to nariokotome , the home of the Turkana boy . On the way , you will pass by the sand pyramids at wadach, sand dunes at napeket and Ferguson bay at kalokol. On the way take packed lunch . At Turkana boy ,you will camp at the site since there is no hotels around . As you go around the place the cook will prepare dinner . Later at night we will light a bonfire and the locals will entertain with stories .
Day 5.
Take early breakfast , move around the area to take pictures . Back to the camp for a journey back to Lodwar . On the way visit the historic stones duped namorutunga. Take snacks on the way back since there is no good hotel on the way . Back to Acacia homes . Take rest . Take dinner early and retire to bed .
Day 6 .
Breakfast at 7am . Pack and go to the airport for checkin for a journey back to Nairobi End of the trip
