PWAM has launched a bold initiative to transform the lives of dumpsite dwellers in Malindi. With support from government officials, the group will form a registered CBO to buy recyclables, store them, and sell in bulk—breaking free from exploitative middlemen. Training in upcycling will boost their income, while efforts to help members obtain national IDs will unlock access to vital services. This is more than recycling—it's a pathway to dignity, self-reliance, and a sustainable future for one of Malindi’s most overlooked communities.
