Oggi Paka Safaris non è nella savana.
Siamo a Watamu, dentro un luogo dove la compassione salva silenziosamente vite, ogni singolo giorno.

“Paka” in swahili significa gatto e qui questa parola diventa una missione.
Gatti malati, abbandonati, quasi morenti arrivano senza nulla… e ripartono con cure, medicine e una seconda possibilità, grazie alla dedizione di Nicoleta, che porta avanti tutto questo quasi completamente da sola.

Più di 400 vite dipendono oggi da questo piccolo santuario.
Alcuni troveranno una casa. Molti stanno ancora aspettando.

Se questa storia ti tocca, anche il più piccolo gesto può fare davvero la differenza.
Perché a volte un safari non parla della fauna nella savana…
ma di proteggere la vita, ovunque abbia più bisogno di noi.

Today, Paka Safaris is not in the bush.
We are in Watamu, inside a place where compassion quietly saves lives every single day.

“Paka” means cat in Swahili and here, that word becomes a mission.
Sick, abandoned, and nearly dying cats arrive with nothing… and leave with care, medicine, and a second chance, thanks to the dedication of Nicoleta, who carries this responsibility almost entirely on her own.

More than 400 lives now depend on this small sanctuary.
Some will find a home. Many are still waiting.

Quando una leonessa sbadiglia, sta allungando i potenti muscoli della mascella e aumentando l’ossigenazione del corpo prima di muoversi.
Le macchie scure sul naso, l’usura dei denti e la lingua ruvida progettata per staccare la carne dalle ossa raccontano tutte una storia di età, esperienza e sopravvivenza.
Durante i nostri safari ci prendiamo il tempo di fermarci.
Di osservare un singolo animale, anche per lunghi momenti, senza fretta.
Non una foto e via, ma tempo dedicato a comprendere comportamenti, abitudini e ritmi.

The dark spots on her nose, the wear of her teeth, and the rough tongue built to strip meat from bone all tell a story of age, experience, and survival.
