𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀:

We all know they are the tallest land animals on the planet but there is so much more to that these gentle giants posses than just a long neck on a 19-ft body

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁-𝗜𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻: A giraffe’s tongue can grow up to 20 inches long and is a deep blue-purple color.It protects their tongues from getting sunburned while they reach for leaves high up in the acacia trees all day

𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀: They also have a big heart to pump blood all the way up a 6 foot long neck to the brain. It weighs about 25 pounds (the same as a french Bulldog) and generates double the blood pressure of a human

𝗢𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀: The bumps on top of a giraffe's head are actually called "ossicones." They are formed from overgrown cartilage covered in skin and fur. Giraffes are born with them flattened to protect the mother during birth

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲: Giraffes have some of the shortest sleep requirements in the animal kingdom. They only sleep for about 30 minutes a day usually in quick 2 to 5 minute power naps often while standing up to stay alert for predators!

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀: Just like human fingerprints no two giraffes have the exact same coat pattern which is one way of differentiating among the species🦒🦒

Our guide bumped into this encounter as they were wrapping up the game drive for the day. A gang of about 100 cape buffalo appeared onto the main road from the bush in what turned out to be the best moment of the day🔥🔥🐃🐃🐃

Incredible! A pair of elephants help a young one get out of a pool after a mud bath! These largest mammals are so social often showing love and care towards each other. They express feelings and emotions that include celebrations after new births marked by trumpeting and dance performances around the new borns 🤣🤣

We encountered a troop of baboons during a game drive at the Buffalo springs reserve in Samburu. Watching them groom each other, getting rid of bugs and caring after the little ones in an almost human manner was so humbling. When you connect with nature any sighting can be magical👌

Leopard sightings are always incredible how many animals can carry prey twice their size live on top of trees and hunt crocodiles in their own turf! This one was hungry and spent time looking for something edible along the river🔥
