In the African wild, lions love resting during the hottest hours of the day, sometimes sleeping up to 20 hours daily to save energy for nighttime hunting. And honestly after seeing this scene, it’s clear one thing in the bush, every place belongs to the lions first.

The Great Wildebeest Migration

One of the most sought-after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, the Great Migration is the ever-moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem.

The Great Migration is the largest herd movement of animals on the planet. In fact, with up to 1,000 animals per km², the great columns of wildebeest can be seen from space.

The numbers are astonishing: over 1.2 million wildebeest and 300,000 zebra along with topi and other gazelle move in a constant cycle through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of nutritious grass and water, July - October, annually.

We witnessed a battle of pure power between two massive bull elephants fighting for dominance. The clash was intense — dust flying, tusks locking, and the ground trembling beneath their weight. At one moment, one bull used unbelievable strength to lift the other almost completely off the ground, nearly tossing over a creature weighing close to 6 tonnes.

The mud works like natural sunscreen, keeps their body cool, and even helps protect them from insects and skin infections.

Chest beating in Silverback Gorillas: The iconic chest beat serves as an important form of communication, but there is more to it than just noise.

Gorilla chests sound hollow primarily because of large, muscular air sacs located near their larynx (voice box) and chest. When they beat their chests, these internal pockets inflate, acting like natural, resonating “drums” to amplify the sound and carry it for up to a kilometer through the dense forest.

Look at this leopard for a moment standing tall on its back legs like a curious explorer of the wild.

Leopards sometimes do this to get a better view above the tall grass, detect danger, spot prey, or simply satisfy their curiosity about a strange sound or movement nearby. Their powerful hind legs help them balance for a few seconds while they scan the surroundings carefully. But after making sure everything is safe, the king of stealth calmly returns to walking the way nature designed it silent and graceful on all four legs.
