I am one of Kenya’s most prominent raptors, commonly found around major lakes and rivers, including Lake Naivasha. I’m a skilled fish hunter and usually build my nest high up in trees near water bodies.

I’m famous for my incredible hunting skills and dramatic dives as I swoop down to catch fish straight from the water. I’m also one of the most iconic birds you’ll spot on a safari.

In partnership with Mawira Foundation, yesterday we held an early celebration of Menstrual Hygiene Day ahead of the official date on 28th May.

Students from Mpukoni, Gacuuri, Ikuu and Kanyuru schools all gathered at Mpukoni Primary for the celebration. It was a meaningful and impactful day focused on education, empowerment, and community support.

I extend my sincere appreciation to all our supporters for the great work and support:

- Women Enterprise Fund
- Educate a Rural Girl
- Red Cross
- Kenya Forest Service

To commemorate the day, we planted trees within the school compound as part of our commitment to conservation and environmental sustainability.
