Njigari Forest: A Two Falls Affair

Dear Njigari, this is our letter to you. 25th of July found us outside International House, Nairobi CBD, at our usual meeting spot — the one place in the city where "let's meet at 6am" and "let's meet whenever everyone shows up" mean the exact same thing. From there we made our way to Nyeri County, to Othaya, where Njigari sits as one of several doors into a much bigger house....

The Maasai call these peaks Olesiwa ntet and Enarusa.
We've done them separately. It's time to combine them.

Yesterday we answered a call of nature and explored the expansive Thuti Forest via Njigari.
A cold and misty day under a tropical forest canopy was our setup for the day with nature.
Bamboo Forest, Muchembu and Gitonga Falls and some fresh forest air.

It was an amazing day yesterday with some amazing human beings.

Kamweti Forest Hike

I can put my money on the fact that anytime you here of Kamweti Forest, Castle Lodge comes to mind. Because the gate to the lodge is most popular entry to Kamweti. Well, after our last hike, I now know we have two gates to Kamweti Forest. The forest is named after the village this entry into the forest is. It's location is east of Castle Lodge gate....
