Kenya’s flying jewel.
The lilac-breasted roller—bursting with all the colours of our landscape and culture—is more than just a pretty face. Widely considered Kenya’s national bird, it’s a symbol of vibrancy, diversity, and bold beauty. You’ll spot them perched proudly across the savannah, often just before they perform their signature aerial acrobatics.

MEET THE TEAM

Say hello to Bimbi Dyer — hostess, horsewoman, and lifelong adventurer. 🌍

Bimbi grew up in Western Kenya before life took her across continents — from the hills of Andalucia to the city lights of London. Together with Fuzz, Bimbi ran Borana Lodge, later creating the barefoot luxury escape of Manda Bay with the Roberts’.

Today, you’ll find her hosting guests at Fuzz’s Camp, leading rides across Borana Conservancy, or working hand-in-hand with the Sanga women’s group — empowering artisans through beautiful beadwork.

A life woven with community, conservation, and a deep love of wild spaces. 🐾✨

Throwing it back to our unforgettable time in Ethiopia with Tropic Air Kenya — a land of ancient history, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality. While travel isn’t possible right now due to the conflict, we hold onto these memories and hope to return to exploring this uniquely incredible country soon.

Join us on an a tailor-made adventure of a lifetime in Africa...

The Safari & Conservation Company (SCC) has been formed through the passion and experience of the Roberts and Dyer families, third generation Kenyans, who have lived and worked in Kenya, and been involved in tourism, wildlife management, aviation and conservation for the past 40 years.

SCC is also the reservations office Borana Lodge, Laragai House, Lengishu and Manda Bay. In addition to the properties, we offer ground handling service and personalised travel itineraries within the East African region. Whether it be horse riding, gorilla trekking or visiting remote and unusual destinations, we have a large network of contacts for developing custom-built itineraries.

As a conservation-based company, SCC strives to bring awareness and respect to the fragile eco-systems in which we operate. With this in mind, all our itineraries focus on providing our guests with the best Africa can offer, not just wildlife but also specialising in providing safaris that are unique and have a real air of ‘adventure’.

SCC is a member of Atta and Eco-tourism and is a fully insured and licensed ground handler.
