The Secretary bird is a large, mostly terrestrial bird of prey. Endemic to Africa, it is usually found in the open grasslands and savanna of the sub-Saharan region.

Unlike most birds of prey, the Secretary Bird is largely terrestrial, hunting its prey on foot. Their prey may consist of insects, mammals ranging in size from mice to hares and mongoose, crabs, lizards, snakes, tortoises, young birds, bird eggs, and sometimes dead animals killed in grass or bush fires.

Nairobi National Park, at the City's Next door!

The only National Park next next to the city, Nairobi National Park is a must-see for those stopping by or transiting through Nairobi, Kenya.

Although you may not spot the Big Five here, it is the best place to spot the black rhino. You will also see wildebeest, zebra and gazelle, as well as lower concentrations of eland, giraffe and impala.

The park is recommended to visit even with kids because you only need a few hours of your day to visit the park, so the children don’t get too tired and cranky.

Kenya is home to three pangolin species: The Temminck’s Ground Pangolin, the White-bellied (Tree) Pangolin and the Giant Ground Pangolin, each playing a vital ecological role in controlling insect populations and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
