We’re proud to share that AMI South Africa is taking part in the G20 SU20 Summit.

Our very own Theo Mabaso, Country Manager - South Africa, is part of a panel discussing “Building Coherence in Entrepreneurial Ecosystems,” exploring how we can strengthen collaboration across institutions, countries, and communities to better support startups and MSMEs across Africa and the world.

As we roll out the Kasipreneur Impact Project (KIP) to support township-based entrepreneurs across South Africa, this summit offers a timely platform to amplify the call for more aligned, cross-sector support. Building coherence in entrepreneurial ecosystems starts with collaboration across borders, sectors, and communities.

We're honoured to bring AMI’s practical, pan-African perspective to this important conversation on shaping inclusive, resilient entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Africa’s entrepreneurs are already investing in their growth. It’s time the world matched their ambition.

In 2024, we supported over 28,000 businesses to grow, increasing our annual reach by 7,5x.

From women-led rural micro-businesses to Africa’s leading cutting-edge businesses, our programmes helped thousands navigate complexity, build resilient teams, and drive real results.

The results are clear:

- For every $1 invested in AMI programmes, $9.85 flowed to employees in the form of new jobs and increased wages, and $31 was delivered in SME increased revenue

- 85% of the jobs created were for women

- SMEs achieved a 16.8% compound annual growth rate (CAGR)

- Youth and women outperformed their peers in both growth and job creation

- The top 20% of businesses doubled their jobs, increased revenue by 66%, and created 81% of all jobs

But this isn’t just about numbers. It’s about the rise of practical, pan-African solutions led by the very people building Africa’s future.

Our Story

AMI was founded in 2014 on a vision for a million skilled managers and entrepreneurs building thriving businesses, creating jobs and getting Africa moving. While there is no shortage of talent in Africa, we believe there is a critical lack of business and management skills. Most traditional training solutions are expensive, ineffective and ill-suited to dynamic Africa markets. We created AMI because we believe there is a better way to learn, and that with the right tools and habits, entrepreneurs and managers across the continent can be empowered to drive Africa forward.
