Our last hike before Mt Kenya is here! On Saturday, 19th September, we’re heading into the Aberdares for the Oldoinyo Lesatima & Dragon’s Teeth Hike — quite possibly the most scenic hike in Kenya. 🇰🇪

Rising to 4,001M above sea level, Oldoinyo Lesatima is the highest peak in the Aberdares and the 3rd highest mountain in Kenya. We’ll take the Dragon’s Teeth trail via Rhino Gate, starting around Twin Rocks and heading into the northern moorlands. From there, we’ll make our way through short shrubs, high-altitude vegetation and those famous jagged rock formations known as the Dragon’s Teeth.

And this is where the fun begins. 😂 The trail has gentle inclines, but the moorlands come with their own little adventure — expect a fair amount of hop, dip and hopefully no fall as we make our way through the boggy sections. 🌿🥾 The Dragon’s Teeth formations come about halfway through the trail, and from there we continue towards Satima Peak. The final stretch gets tougher as the altitude kicks in, so this is definitely a slow-and-steady kind of hike.

We’re looking at 16KM, 800M elevation gain and 6–8 hours on the mountain. We’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the trail, take breaks, take in the views, spot some wildlife if we’re lucky and, of course, get a little muddy along the way. 😂

But there’s another reason this hike is important — Mt Kenya is next. 👀⛰️ This is our final mountain outing before we head out to Point Lenana at 4,985M, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get some

Sunrise just hits different when you’re on Mt Kenya. 🌅⛰️ Sirimon gives you those views that make you forget about the cold, the early wake-up call and the legs that are quietly asking questions. 😂 Every turn has something worth stopping for.

And somewhere between “how far is Lenana?” and “I can’t feel my toes,” you realise… this is exactly why we came. 😂🥾

This weekend, we’re not looking for an easy Saturday. We’re looking for a good story to tell afterwards. 😂⛰️

On 5th September, we’re taking on Elephant Hill ➡️ Mau Mau Summit — two summits, 24KM, 1,190M elevation gain and a proper hard day in the mountains. 👊🏽🔥

Come ready to climb, but also ready to enjoy the little things — good company, trail conversations, great views, random photos and that moment at the summit when you realise the hard part was worth it. 🤍⛰️

Maybe that’s why nature feels so peaceful.
The trees aren’t trying to be rivers, the hills aren’t competing with mountains, and the birds definitely aren’t checking who’s watching. Everything just shows up as it is... and somehow that’s enough.

Another hike, another chance to find out what you’re actually made of. 😂⛰️

The climb gets tough, your legs start negotiating, and suddenly every step feels personal. 😭 But that’s the thing about hard trails — they remind you that you can keep going even when your body is asking for a group meeting.
