Greetings from KPSGA.

You're invited to the upcoming KPSGA ‘Be a Better Guide Workshop’.

Oceans Alive in Vipingo, Kilifi, are excited to bring marine wonder to you as a guide. Many guides, most of whom take clients to the coastal areas, have no idea that corals are living animals. The Guest Speaker Mr. Joseph Muturi together with Ms. Hollie Mgog have developed an engaging, session that brings this invisible world to life:

“What is a Coral?”
A dynamic talk designed for guides of all levels.

The session blends storytelling, science and interactive Q&A to ignite curiosity and inspire ocean stewardship. It's ideal to deepen understanding of our marine ecosystems.

We shall also receive a talk from a KWS representative on the “Less Known National Parks and Reserves and their various Attractions”.

Entry for members is free but non-members accompanying members will be charged a fee of K.Shs 300/.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Ranger to lead our team of rangers and guides. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wildlife conservation, guiding and guest engagement, ensuring exceptional safari experiences while prioritizing safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of rangers and safari guides, ensuring high standards of professionalism and guest experience.
- Conduct and oversee game drives, bush walks, and other wildlife experiences with expert knowledge of the Masai Mara ecosystem.
- Train and mentor rangers on guiding techniques, wildlife interpretation, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with park regulations, conservation practices, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with camp management to develop and enhance safari experiences for guests.
- Maintain and oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance for safari operations.
- Act as a liaison between the camp, local communities, and conservation organizations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional safari guide, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Silver or Gold KPSGA certification (Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of African wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation practices.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- Experience in guiding both game drives and walking safaris.
- First Aid certification and knowledge of safety procedures in the wilderness.
- Ability to work in a remote location and adapt to flexible working hours.
