📌Highlights
- A peaceful protest march planned by Kenya’s tourism industry stakeholders happened today Monday, Nov 3, 2025. The protest targeted the recent changes to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) park fee systems.

The protest grievances were:
- Elimination of bank/eCitizen payments;
- Introduction of 8.5% fee - introduced as Gateway Fee; and
- Use of inflated exchange rate (Ksh135/USD vs CBK rate of Ksh129).

Tour operators claim this threatens Kenya’s safari competitiveness.

KTF & KATO have petitioned KWS for reversal.
