Tonight, We're Going Dark for Earth Hour 🌍💡
Today, Saturday March 28th, from 8:30-9:30 PM (20:30-21:30 hrs), we're joining millions around the world for Earth Hour.
For 60 minutes, we're switching off our lights in solidarity with the planet we work to protect every single day.
Why Earth Hour matters in East Africa:
This isn't just about turning off lights. It's about recognizing that everything is connected.
The wild spaces we share with you on safari—the Serengeti, the Mara, Amboseli, Bwindi—they exist because of healthy ecosystems, stable climates, and committed conservation.
Climate change threatens: 🐘 Elephant migration routes (changing rainfall patterns) 🦍 Mountain gorilla habitats (temperature shifts at altitude) 🦓 The Great Migration timing (unpredictable rains) 🌿 The ecosystems everything depends on
What we're doing:
Tonight, our offices go dark from 8:30-9:30 PM. Our Homes too. One hour of reflection. One hour of commitment to doing better.
But Earth Hour isn't just one hour. It's a reminder that conservation is daily work:
✅ We partner with lodges using solar power
✅ We support anti-poaching efforts that protect carbon-storing forests
✅ We promote responsible tourism that funds conservation
✅ We educate travellers about their environmental impact
✅ We work with communities protecting wildlife corridors
Will you join us?
Tonight, 8:30-9:30 PM, switch off your lights. Sit in the dark. Think about the wild spaces you love. And commit to protecting them—not just for one hour, but every day.
The wild we share with you is worth more than convenience.
Earth Hour. Tonight. 8:30-9:30 PM.
