TBT to the Castle Forest climb that tested more than just our muscles.
The path was steep. The fog was thick. The silence was loud.
But step by step, we pushed forward.

Because every hike isn’t just about reaching the peak — it’s about proving to yourself that you can.

Sometimes it’s not the view that changes you... it’s the journey.

Why You Should Hug a Tree Today

Sounds funny? Maybe. But hugging a tree can actually reduce stress, lower anxiety, and boost your mood.

When you hug a tree:
You release oxytocin — the “feel good” hormone
You breathe in healing phytoncides that calm your body
You reconnect with nature and yourself

Next time you're out in the wild, don’t just walk past the trees… pause. Wrap your arms around one. Breathe. Feel its stillness. Let it ground you.

You’ll be surprised how something so simple can make you feel so alive

We hiked. We laughed. We touched waterfalls and left lighter. Gatango gave us more than a view it gave us a reset. The kind that humbles your lungs, clears your mind, and bonds strangers like family.

From Pavement to Peak
Day 1: Nairobi → Old Moses Camp (3,300m) We left the noise of the city behind just after sunrise. It didn’t take long before the smooth roads gave way to winding forest tracks, and suddenly, we were on the mountain. By late afternoon, we’d trekked through lush moorland and reached Old Moses Camp our first base. The air was cooler, conversations lighter, and somewhere between setting up tents and sharing tea under the stars, strangers became teammates.

Day 2: Old Moses → Shipton’s Camp (4,200m) This was the day that tested our pace and spirit. Hours of climbing through dramatic landscapes giant lobelias, eerie rock formations, wide-open moorland that made the sky feel bigger. Some pushed through with grit, others with playlists and bad hiking jokes. By the time we reached Shipton’s, muscles ached but so did cheeks from laughing. Sleep came early, tucked in sleeping bags beneath a sky bursting with stars.

Day 3: Summit Day | Lenana Peak (4,985m) This was the moment. We rose at 2am in pitch darkness, headlamps flickering, breaths visible in the cold. Step by step, zigzagging through scree and silence, we climbed. Then, just before 6am Lenana. The summit. Wind howling. Hearts pounding. Tears. Shouts. Hugs. Photos. There are no words for what it feels like to stand above the clouds and watch the sun rise beneath you. But we tried. Later, we descended through the breathtaking Gorges Valley and reached the next camp on the Chogoria side, sleepier and prouder than ever before.

Day 4: Descent to Chogoria Gate → Nairobi Coming down felt surreal. Tired feet, quiet minds. We moved through bamboo forests and waterfalls, trading trail mix and stories. We weren’t the same people who began this journey. Somewhere up there, we’d shed fears, limits and maybe a little ego. By the time we got back to Nairobi, we were sunburned, muddy, and totally fulfilled.

If you’ve ever felt the need to pause, breathe deeper, or do something unforgettableyou’re invited.
You’re invited.

Join us as we hike to one of Africa’s most majestic places: the summit of Mt. Kenya. From August 1st to 4th, we’ll trek through moorlands and glaciers, camp under star-strewn skies, and rise together to Lenana Peak at 4,985 meters.

🔹 Route: Sirimon🔹 Duration: 4 days, 3 nights 🔹 Departure: Nairobi 🔹 What’s included: Meals, park fees, tents, guides, transport, good vibes

Your story is waiting at the summit. Let’s write it together.

📩 Tap the poster for details. DM to book your slot. Only a few spaces left. Let’s make this hike one to remember.

You don’t need to be a pro. You don’t need top-of-the-line boots (though comfy ones help 😄). All you need is the willingness to climb, connect, and let nature do its healing work.

Storytime from Castle Forest...

They say the forest doesn’t speak but I swear Castle Forest had a lot to say.

We started our journey early, the kind of morning where the sky blushes pink and the air carries a quiet excitement. Backpacks on, boots tightened, spirits high. What we didn’t know was that this wasn’t just going to be a hike it was going to be a story we’d tell over and over again.

The forest welcomed us with a gentle mist and the kind of silence that’s not empty, but full. Full of birds chirping their own little gossip above us, full of trees swaying like they’ve known each other for centuries. Every turn on the trail held something new a whisper of wind, a rustle in the leaves, a sudden burst of laughter from someone spotting a monkey swinging by like it had places to be.

Then came the waterfalls wild, loud, unapologetic. We stood there, soaked not just by the spray, but by awe. Some of us sat in silence, others pulled out cameras, but we were all connected by the same feeling: (this is where I need to be right now.)

We hugged trees (yes, literally), we shared snacks, stories, and steps. Tired feet, but happy souls. Somewhere along the way, the forest stripped away the noise of everyday life and left us with the raw, refreshing music of now.

Castle Forest didn’t just give us a trail to walk it gave us a journey to feel. And trust me, we felt everything.

Would I go back? Absolutely.
Would I recommend it? Only if you’re ready to meet a version of yourself that feels a little lighter, a little wilder, and a lot more alive.
