As part of our commitment to supporting research and scientific advancement in East Africa, ESTEC LTD - Educational Scientific & Technical Equipment Company LTD has donated a specialized HPLC column to Kenyatta University’s Department of Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics.

The column will be used by among others, a PhD student to support vital research on aflatoxins, β-carotene, and acrylamide in cereals—critical topics in food safety, nutrition, and public health.

Our Marketing Executive Gacheri Mitchelle Judy had the pleasure of presenting the column to 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐲𝐚, the Chief Technologist at the department, as part of our shared vision to empower local institutions with the tools they need for high-impact research.

These advanced instruments will significantly enhance the lab’s ability to detect and quantify pesticide residues with greater accuracy and efficiency, supporting regulatory compliance and public health safety. 🧫

Our expert engineer completed thorough calibration and system checks to ensure top performance, followed by comprehensive hands-on training for the board’s technicians, who are now fully equipped to operate, maintain, and interpret data from these sophisticated machines.

This milestone marks a major step forward in strengthening pesticide analysis capabilities, improving product quality control, and safeguarding the environment.
