What actually goes in a safari bag? 🎒

Neutral colours - khaki, olive, brown (skip bright white and blue, they attract tsetse flies).
Layers - mornings are cold, afternoons are hot.
A wide-brim hat and good sunglasses.
Binoculars, if you have them - the guide's spotting scope gets shared around fast.
A camera, or just your eyes. Either works.

And the one thing every guest forgets: a dust-proof bag for electronics. Mara roads are no joke.

Amboseli's elephant herds moving across the plain, Kilimanjaro rising behind them, snow catching the morning light - this is one of the most photographed scenes in Africa, and it never gets old in person.

Our driver-guides read the bush like a second language - the flick of a tail, a alarm call from a francolin, tyre tracks from that morning. That's what turns a game drive into a story.

Lake Naivasha isn't just a hippo lake, it's one of the best birdwatching spots in Kenya. 🕊️

Over 400 species have been recorded here, making it a haven for anyone who loves looking up as much as out. Fish eagles perch along the shoreline, their calls carrying across the water at sunrise. Pelicans glide in formation. Kingfishers dart between the papyrus reeds, and if you're lucky, you'll spot the flash of a malachite kingfisher - one of the most striking birds in East Africa.

A slow boat ride at dawn or dusk is the best way to see it all unfold - quiet water, soft light, and birdlife everywhere you look.
