Know Your Animal Wednesday: Rhino 🦏

Thick-skinned. Heavy-footed. Gentle soul.
The African rhino may look like a prehistoric tank, but behind that armor is a quiet grazer, roaming the grasslands in search of peace; not war.

There are two types in Kenya; the black rhino, solitary and shy, and the white rhino, social and often seen in small groups.
Black rhinos browse on bushes. White rhinos graze on grass. Their lips? Custom-designed by nature; pointed for picking, wide for mowing.

🦏 Weight: Over 2,300 kg
🦏 Speed: Up to 50 km/h
🦏 Horn: Made of keratin—like human nails
🦏 Skin: Up to 5 cm thick, but sensitive to sunburn
🦏 A group of rhinos is called a crash

Tragically, all five rhino species are endangered due to poaching. That’s why each sighting is sacred; a privilege, not a promise.

📍 See them in Ol Pejeta, Nakuru, and Nairobi National Park

Zebra crossings, but make it wild. 🦓

We stopped.
Not because we had to; but because we wanted to.

There’s something about meeting zebras in their space; watching them move so gracefully against the backdrop of the city skyline. It makes you slow down. Breathe. Wonder.

This isn’t just a game drive. It’s a gentle reminder that magic still exists; just outside Nairobi, waiting for you.

If this is your kind of “traffic jam,” we’ve saved you a front-row seat.

📩 DM us to book your Nairobi safari now. Let’s create your story together.

A flat tire in the middle of the park? Not quite the adventure we planned ; but definitely one we’ll never forget.

There we were; deep in the wild, surrounded by nature’s calm and untamed beauty. The game drive had been magical so far. Birds singing. Impalas grazing. The air crisp and still. Then came the sudden thud, the kind that tells you your journey just took a different turn.

A flat tire. In the middle of nowhere.

No panic. Just a pause; a moment to breathe, to take in where we were. And while the tire was being fixed, we got front-row seats to a silent safari. Giraffes in the distance. Nature, unbothered.

It wasn’t part of the plan, but it reminded us of something important: in the wild, the unexpected is part of the story. And sometimes, it’s the hiccups that make the best memories.

Destination Friday – Lake Nakuru National Park

A lake painted pink… and a forest full of secrets.

Lake Nakuru isn’t just a lake; it’s a scene straight from a dream. On some days, thousands of flamingos gather at the water’s edge, turning the shoreline into a soft sea of pink.

But look beyond the water, and the magic deepens: endangered rhinos graze under fever trees, lions lounge in acacia shade, and elusive leopards peer from branches above.

Whether you're watching pelicans glide across the water or catching golden light over the lake’s cliffs, Nakuru leaves a mark; soft, colorful, unforgettable.

And the best part? It’s just a few hours from Nairobi.

Let’s plan your lakeside safari escape!

Fun Fact Thursday – Sleepy Kings & Queens of the Savannah

You might spot a lion... doing absolutely nothing.

Did you know lions can sleep up to 20 hours a day? 😴

These kings and queens of the savannah aren’t lazy; they’re conserving energy for when it truly matters: hunting, defending their pride, or claiming territory.

Most of their action happens under cover of darkness. So if you see a lion stretched belly-up in the sun, you’re witnessing their recharge routine; the calm before the power.

And trust us; when they move, the ground feels it.

Want to see them up close? We’ll take you there, no binoculars needed.

Know Your Animal – The Waterbuck

They may not be the loudest on safari ; but they leave an impression.

🔸 Often seen relaxing near rivers, lakes, or forest edges.
🔸 The males have long, spiral horns ; and a presence you can’t ignore.
🔸 That white ring on the back? It helps the herd stick together in the wild.
🔸 They have a strong, musky scent ; nature’s way of waterproofing.
🔸 Rarely stray far from water ; it’s their safety zone.

And when the light hits just right… like in these moments we captured?
It’s beauty, grace, and wild elegance; all in one frame.
