For many, many years East African Air Charters has been incredibly lucky to have our very own back room boffin in the form of Peter Magius. Peter has been instrumental in keeping our aircraft in tip top condition, and with his dedicated team around him and a big white beard was a literal and figurative wizard in problem solving and tool making for all things mechanical, technical and aviation wise.

Danish by birth, Peter has spent nearly his whole life in Kenya, growing up in the Kinangop before settling in a simple life in Nairobi working with Mike and David Seton at Wilson Airport.

A gentle, kind and very honorable man, Peter had been battling cancer for a few years with a very determined optimism. Sadly this was just not a problem he could solve and Peter passed away at home last Friday evening, which was very much where he wanted to be.

EAAC has lost a huge wealth of knowledge, experience, history, ideas, inventions, friendship and advice in his passing. Without doubt he will be much missed by all of us.

Peter is being cremated as per his wishes on Tuesday 1st February at the Hindu Crematorium Nairobi at 11am. A small ceremony is being held for him at the Montezuma Funeral Home, Mbagathi Way beforehand if anyone would like to attend before going onto the crematorium afterwards.

Rest In Peace … Peter Magius (1943 -
2022)
