Background information
Free Pentecostal Fellowship in Kenya (FPFK) is a Church organization, whose Mission includes to meet the spiritual, Economic and Social needs of the people through Evangelism, EDUCATION, Training & Socio-Economic activities based on Christian values. FPFK has membership of over 187,000 in 197 local churches and 710 branches. FPFK was established independently by the Norwegia

n and Swedish missionaries in the early 1950s and 1960s respectively. Our motivation to work came as a result of what we found in our longtime experience with children; to most communities in the Kenyan society children are only to “be seen and not to be heard”. For instance pastors, parents, and children workers were raising concern for creation and strengthening the national children department within FPFK. Children workers too expressed their concern on the alarming level of ignorance on the importance of children work among church members and leaders. Children also expressed a wish to have children-centered programs that can address their spiritual and mental development needs.
