EUROPE'S OPEN DOOR. KENYA STILL NEEDS A SCHENGEN VISA.
For many Kenyan travellers, visiting Europe still means applying for a Schengen visa, paying the visa fee, securing an appointment, and submitting supporting documents.
Meanwhile, only a small number of African countries currently enjoy visa-free access to the Schengen Area for short stays.
Visa policies are influenced by factors such as:
✈️ Irregular migration trends
📊 Visa overstay rates
🛂 Border security cooperation
📄 Identity document security
🤝 Diplomatic agreements
Whether you agree with these policies or not, they shape how easily people move across borders.
What do you think?
Should African countries push harder for reciprocal visa-free agreements?
Would easier travel strengthen tourism, trade, education and investment?
Let's keep the discussion respectful—we'd love to hear your perspective.
