There are a handful of places in Africa that feel truly unlike anywhere else. Bisate Lodge is one of them.

Perched on the slopes of an ancient volcanic cone overlooking Volcanoes National Park, Bisate is as much a conservation success story as it is a luxury lodge. The architecture is striking, the views are mystical, and the sense of place is impossible to replicate.

Gorilla trekking is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences on Earth. After hiking through bamboo forests and mist covered mountains, coming face to face with a family of mountain gorillas is something that defies description. There’s one place that finds its way into almost every itinerary we design — Lewa Wilderness.

Family run and deeply personal, it’s far more than just a safari camp. The people here are a huge part of what makes it so special, and over the years many of them have become dear friends.

No matter how long you stay, there never seems to be enough time to do everything. While we always encourage guests to get out of the vehicle and experience Lewa on foot, horseback, or from the air, that can be easier said than done when the game viewing is this good.

Many visits bring those classic Big Five moments, but Lewa offers so much more than that. Rolling hills, forests, open plains, wetlands, and dramatic views of Mount Kenya make it feel like several ecosystems woven into one incredible conservancy. Every drive feels different, and every day brings something unexpected.
